Notice Anything Different?

UPDATE: I'm making adjustments as I read your comments. So you may see more changes throughout the day - maybe the week. Thank you!

SECOND UPDATE: I have tried everything I know to get the banner to appear on the screen for everyone. This Blogger template is titled SOHO and the particular template is the last one on the right. If any of you tech wizards can tell me how to fix it, the whopping $5 Amazon gift card is yours. For the first correct answer only. Thank you.

I hope you spot a new thing or two. Otherwise I did all this work for nothing ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Look around. All the pages (look up here๊œ›) are new.

Let me know if you find any goofs (likely). If there are enough, I'll do a drawing for a free Kindle book or $5 Amazon gift card. Don't be shy!

Tell me what you like the best about the new look. Don't tell me if you hate it, LOL.

I'm actually sad to see the beach banner go, so don't be surprised if it comes back at some point with a new Coastal standalone novel.

But I've already wiped my tears, and I'm ready to move forward.

The new banner is a photo of a portion of the San Antonio River Walk. Most of you know this is where I live. Not actually on the River Walk, but in San Antonio.

San Antonio is also the setting for my new trilogy. I've worked on this for a long time. As. You. Know. When it was finished, I found a fantastic editor, and we got busy.

So without further ado....

A law enforcement consultant whose special skill is putting random pieces together discovers she has psychic ability, but she never knows when this new aptitude will appear. Or how it will affect her.

The consultant is Gracie Hofner, a thirty-two year old former San Antonio Police Department detective. The consultancy that employs her is called The Bastion Group.

Gracie is the youngest of five, with one sister and three brothers. She's dedicated and persistent. She's also a little klutzy.

As you may have inferred from the graphic, this trilogy is one continuing story. It flows from the first book to the second and concludes in the third.

Each book is complete in and of itself, but the overall story will be much more satisfying if it's read in order.

I hope you'll help me spread the word, both now and when each book is released. More about all that when it's time for the first book. Soon.

Very soon.

So soon, in fact, that my first plea for help is with a cover reveal in July. Any time at all during July will be most gratefully appreciated. If you participate, I will send you the details the last week of June. If you need them sooner, just let me know.

If you would like to participate in the cover reveal for the first Amazing Gracie book, say so in a comment or email me at my email carolkilgoreauthor @ gmail.com or at the blog email tikihuttime @ gmail.com

I'll also appreciate if you can tell me the date you will post the cover so I can be sure to drop by and comment.

Congratulations on the upcoming book.
I'll have to look at your site overall to see the header. That's the only thing about this new look that's a bummer - one only sees the text of the post.

I haven't been here in a really long time, but I do love the new look!

And sure, feel free to sign me up for your cover reveal - you can get me at kyralennon (at) gmail.com! <3

Nice job - on the site and the trilogy! :) I clicked all the links and they work. The only thing I saw that might not be quite right is, on the homepage, two large "join my newsletter" graphics that both lead to different post.

I see now that they are picking up the first image of the post, but it's confusing.
Bish Denham said…
That's quite a change. I have to click on "home" to see the new banner picture (love the River Walk!) otherwise your post is all text.

Congratulations on the trilogy! I can help with a cover reveal on July 3rd or July 10th. After that I won't be around until August.

Alex - Thanks! You know I have issues with the technical side of things, so I've no idea why you don't see the banner photo. But I'll keep tinkering on my end to try to get things to operate smoothly.

Kyra - Great seeing you here! Thanks for offering to participate in the cover reveal. Will email you later today.

H.R. - I fixed the problem of the images following this post. This is something I knew how to do! I don't know how to adjust the size of the images that appear there, but I'll keep trying to figure it out. Somewhere there's an adjustment, I'm sure. Or not, LOL :)

Bish - Did you not see the graphic for the trilogy inside the post either? I don't really know why some don't see the the banner, but I'm assuming it's to do with the method used to read the posts, since they begin on the first page and finish all together on another. You probably just see the full post page and miss all the upfront goodies.

I'll be in touch later today by email about the cover reveal. Thank you!
It's always nice to do a total site update. It's time I do that for my website but not sure yet what to do. Your new book sounds really good! I look forward to hearing more about it.

Your new header is fun. I like how neat and organized the elements on the side bar are now.
Huge congratulations.
Like others I had to move to the 'home' tab to see your new banner, but like it. Lots.

Like Alex, I didn't see the banner until I pressed the arrow to get to the home page. It didn't show on the individual post.

The new banner is awesome too - fun and eye catching - nicely done! :)
Carol Kilgore said…
Karen - It's been an experience, that's for sure. I love the look, and I'll like it more as soon as all the kinks are worked out. Book news in July!

Mac - Thanks!

Janie - Glad you like :)

Diane - Thank you.

EC - I hope I can figure out how to fix that, but this is a template, so I'm guessing it's a fixed thing. I keep searching for something that sounds like it would work, but so far I haven't found it.
Carol Kilgore said…
Jemi - We crossed! You can thank Ada Frost for the awesome banner.
A nice clean look here and congrats on the new book

The River Walk is one of my most favorite places to visit. Great new look. I'll be emailing you to sign up for your cover reveal. Can't wait. Congrats!!
Hello, Carol. I will absolutely help out with your cover reveal. No worries. It is always tough to make changes to the blog. I know I'm always sad to bring about changes. I think your blog looks good. Can't wait to see what it looks like when you are all done.

Lovely new look - very clean! And congratulations on the new trilogy. I had a one woman show calked States of Grace many years ago. I played seven different characters named Grace.
Carol Kilgore said…
Jo-Anne - Thank you!

Mason - I love the River Walk, too. Great about the cover reveal - thanks :)

Murees - Wonderful! Thank you. Will email you about a date.

Jan - Glad you like the new me :) Love clean and minimal. You'll have to let me know if any of your Graces were like my Gracie!

Sorry; I haven't been here for a while. I did notice you changed the header picture. What fun to be reworking your blog, lol. I did that - but with blogger template. Good luck with the new look, and the book. The cover is awesome.
Julie Flanders said…
Wow, how exciting!! Congratulations on the new trilogy! It sounds amazing and I've always wanted to visit San Antonio, so reading this set will be the next best thing. I can't see the header at the top of the page so maybe you are still making changes, but just wanted to let you know in case there is some sort of glitch.
Congrats and great job all the way around. I'm excited for you!
Julie Flanders said…
Oh and I forgot to say I'm be happy to be part of the cover reveal! Sign me up. :)

I got here and my eyes bugged out. Definitely a new look. My mom lived near the River Walk for a couple years, so for once I feel like I know your territory! Very cool. We loved watching fireworks in your neighborhood, btw.
I also don't see the banner, but everything else looks great! Congrats on your new look for your new books!

Dolorah - This is a Blogger template. I didn't change much. That's why I can't figure out why some people can't see the banner. Grr. Thanks for the good wishes :)

Julie F - Thanks so much for participating in the cover reveal. I'll email you in a bit. I'm excited, too :)

Crystal - We do have great fireworks!

Julie P - Thank you! Still working on that darn banner.

Mark said…
Look cool:) I remember the river walk in San Antonio and you definitely have that flavor going on here:)
Nice change! I like the cleanness of it. Let me know if you ever find that answer for a banner at the top at all times.
Happy to help with the cover reveal too.
Carol Kilgore said…
Mark - Ole! Salsa and guacamole at the bar :)

Lynda - Thanks. I like that about it, too. If someone shares the answer with me, I'll give them all the credit right here on the blog.
Carol Kilgore said…
Oops! Lynda, I forgot to say thank you for participating in my cover reveal. I'll be in touch later today.

I like the overall impression, but I can't see the banner image either. :-(

Maybe it's something with your template's html codes?
Carol Kilgore said…
Misha - I know nothing about html codes. How would I see that or identify it?
When I entered your blog, I didn't see the new header, but as soon as I hit "home," BAM! There it was in all its glory.

Your blog looks awesome, and you're doing a terrific job with your newsletter, too. I can't wait to read those new books of yours!

have a super weekend.

Wish I could help with the banner issue. There's no tech support to go to, but have you tried to find a Forum for this template? There seems to be a forum for just about everything.

Carol Kilgore said…
Susan - Thanks! I'm glad you're looking forward to the books.

Lee - I have not checked into a forum. But I will do that tonight or tomorrow. Thanks!
I love the new look, Carol!!
Fabulous header!
Once I clicked on the post title, the header disappeared.
Sorry but I can't help with techno thinggies...
Can we also tweet or post on Facebook for the cover reveal?
Carol Kilgore said…
Michelle - YES! MOST DEFINITELY - cover reveal tweets and Facebook postings are awesome, encouraged, and invited!

I wish I'd thought to include that in my post.
Cheers on the upcoming book! I bet it's exciting to finally have Gracie ready to take on the world.

I really dig the new design. Very clean. Very professional. Basically everything we're not (that's how you know you're doing it right).
Carol Kilgore said…
Beer - Gracie's getting impatient, but we're still working on the fine tuning. Thanks for the cool words. Glad you like the new look. You guys have a great blog. Love your humor. And because beer :)

Hi, Carol!

It's been ages.... LOVE the banner... I see it right off! Obviously you fixed all the glitches. Really like the sophisticated and new clean lines.

At some point I need to update my blog. I am just so fond of it, but It can certainly use a belated SPRING CLEANING...

CONGRATS on the trilogy. ALL the best!
Carol Kilgore said…
Michael - I'm so happy you SAW the banner! And that you like the whole new look. The old blog was a little stale, and since I have to rely on pre-made templates, I was happy to find something fresh that I liked. I'm so excited to introduce Gracie to the world and I wanted to show her off to the best of my ability. Great seeing you here again!
