And speaking of witches, my baby girl is dressing as a witch this year (her first halloween). She's SOOOO cute. I have pictures of her on my facebook page.
Brings back childhood memories, especially of haunted houses--one my friend cooked up. It was spooky!! I especially remember the macaroni for brains.
But the best was trick or treat. One elderly man in my neighborhood wouldn't give us a treat until we recited something. I think I recited a nursery rhyme. Ah...gone are those days. It was fun. Ann
Ann - Happy to bring back memories for you. One man on our block had a big dog of some kind, maybe a boxer, and on Halloween the dog came with him to the door...wearing sunglasses.
Holly - Hmm...loves bats. Okay. Smiling :)
Elspeth - I think they're a little freaky, but I've never met one up close and personal.
Happy Halloween, Carol! I love this post because I love Halloween. I agree with your list ;) And for adults, I recommend going/attending anywhere they're playing "The Rocky Horror Picture Show". It's so much fun!
So, are you going trick-or-treating? The only thing I don't like about living out here in the country is that we don't have kids out here going from door to door. The doors are too far apart. LOL When we lived in a city, I loved seeing all the kids and their costumes.
However, I'm w/ Mason about watching scary movies.
I always make sure that I have plenty of buttered popcorn & Coke [in a chilled glass w/ extra ice & a wedge of lemon!] & watch the original [1978] version of Halloween.

Arlee - I'll second that one.
LR - I've only seen a bat once, in a parking garage. It wasn't sleeping. Scared me to death.
Terry - I know. Sad. I'll be over to check out your fun!
VR - Yes!
Great list here! Have a wonderful weekend and boo-tiful Halloween!
