The Author Knows Best

After a very busy first half of the year, it was time for a little self care. Some yoga, a fresh haircut, some R&R, things like that. But before I dived back into a daily routine, I thought it could be fun to take stock of myself in other ways, too.

They say knowing yourself is a good thing. Right? So I decided to take inventory to find out what my special skills really are. Some of them really surprised me, and others have inspired me to do better.

With this new insight, I decided to share my special talents with you.

  • Waking up with a big mug of coffee.
  • Playing with dogs.
  • Eating.
  • Listening to music.
  • Remembering faces.
  • Forgetting names.
  • Changing my mind.
  • Online shopping.
  • Relaxing on the patio.
  • Drinking wine.

You didn't really think this was going to be a serious post, did you šŸ˜

Have a great September and stay safe out there.

Hugs,

Carol

My philosophy is to not get to know myself. :) :) It's safer that way. But I do like me some hair therapy!

That sounds like a good life to me!

Hi Carol, my plan from the last few days has been to take it easy, exercise, watch the clouds and sunset and birds, catch up with friends and family on the phone.

Seems like you are enjoying the slow pace :)

I like your special talents. Sometimes we need need to slow down and recharge.

Haha! Can you believe I'm bad at some of your good things?? Taking a break is a good thing. I really should try doing that more. Have a wonderful month!

Hey! You stole my talents! But I do have an extra one you can borrow any time you want. Napping!

I'll add cat wrangling!

Teresa - Big fan of hair therapy here, too :)

Alex - Not complaining.

Rachna - Love watching sunsets ā™„

Natalie - Totally agree about recharging.

Jan - No worries. Each of us have our own special talents.

Bish - HaHa! I suck at napping. I try never to take one unless it's like a 5-minute power nap. Otherwise I wake up crabby and discombobulated and am no good for the rest of the day.

Diane - Cat wrangling! No cats here. Allergic. My last cat was a Siamese that I adored. She tolerated me.

Special talents? You have special talents.
Slinking into the woodwork here.
I do wake easily and well though. Too easily (a fridge magnet falling is enough).

I'd say you know yourself quite well, and since I've been hanging out with you for some time now, I knew better than to expect a serious post. Are you kidding? What would Gracie think if the author went all philosophical?
Jemi Fraser saidā€¦
Love it! I can remember a lot of the names, but I rarely remember the faces!

Love your list. Sometimes I think we all can take ourselves too seriously. We need to enjoy and be thankful more.

EC - Sometimes the least tiny noise will awaken me. Other times, the house could fall down around me and I'd still sleep.

Lee - I can't even spell that "philo" word :)

Jemi - What a pair we'd make!

Leigh - I'm definitely not a navel gazer :)

I love hibiscus! I'm a face person, too. I tell people that I might have trouble remembering their name, but I'll remember their face till I die. LOL
I love your special talents... eating in particular ;)
Carol Kilgore saidā€¦
Melissa - I love them, too!

Lynda - That's my favorite :)

Jo-Anne - We're all good at something :)
