February is for Lovers

Did you miss me? More likely you didn't realize I didn't show up in January. I got a great start on a new series and some serious revisions and editing done on a new Gracie book. The title is still up in the air, but I'll be sharing it and telling you about this new book as soon as possible. Look for it to be available in the late spring to early summer time frame.

This is what the completed manuscript looks like.

You all know about the KISS principle, right? Keep It Simple, Stupid. That's my new motto for my blog this year. So with that in mind...

Top 10 Things to Do with your Significant Other during a Pandemic

10. Give each other a pedicure. If Jesus could wash feet, so can you.

9. Give each other a manicure. Let him have a practice run with the nail polish first.

8. Gently trim each other's hair. Bangs may not be a good option.

7. Teach him to bake a cake. And let him clean up.

6. Teach her to check the oil. And let her clean up.

5. Plan a post-covid getaway or vacation. While you're in bed.

4. Share a bottle of really good wine. In front of a fire or snuggled together. It's February. If you're in the Southern Hemisphere, do this on the patio after dark.

3. Cook dinner together. No food fights :)

2. Slow dance in the kitchen while dinner cooks. Accept no texts or phone calls.

1. A long night of little sleep, lots of hanky-panky, and shared dreams. Just put on a shirt and brush your hair before the Zoom meeting the next morning.

I'll be back on Wednesday, March 3.

Might as well make the best of it. At least my wife and I both know how to check oil and make a cake.

Great suggestions! Hubby massages my feet. He doesn't often ask me to massage his, but when he does, my fingers are willing. Happy Valentine's!

Wonderful suggestions :)
No food fights? Spoil sport.
Love that your muse has been with you in lockdown. And I really, really look forward to reading the results of your collaboration.
Some good ideas here!

Sounds like you had a very productive January!

We've enjoyed drinks on the patio but at the moment it is way too cold. We do have another overnight trip planned. Need to get out of Dodge for a while.

Sounds like a whole lot of fun to me!!

That's great that you made so much progress with your writing last month. And thanks for the great suggestions.
I'm glad to hear your writing juices are still flowing freely. Makes being housebound a lot more enjoyable... and productive. I'm a firm believer in the KISS principle. I almost wish I weren't, though. It's what's driving me to tear everything in my house apart so I can simplify things.

Take care, and keep on writing!

BISH - You two are a good team.
RACHNA - Thanks!
EC - I guess you can have a food fight. It could get really interesting :)
ELIZABETH - January was good. I did accomplish quite a bit.
DIANE - Curl up in a sleeping bag for two.
JEMI - Try it!
NATALIE - My pleasure. I hope every month of 2021 will be as productive as January.
SUSAN - I'm thankful those juices are flowing, too. Just wish I worked faster.
HR - Thanks. Top 10s are fun.
But food fights can be fun too... ;)
Not for me then, I'm not a lover
Look at that finished manuscript!!! Great job. If we have to be in a pandemic, there needs to be something good come out of it.

It seems you have a very good reason for not appearing in January. Busy lady!

LYNDA - Yes they can! Other times, they're just a huge mess.

I can't imagine my late husband ever giving me a pedicure. He did however, dye my hair!
Carol Kilgore said…
KALPANA - Thank you.
LIZA - My husband has never dyed my hair, but many years ago I broke my ankle. Not a bad break, but I was unable to give myself a pedicure. He came through like a champ - and painted my toenails from side to side.

Great list! And, yes, let him have a trial run with the nail polish. LOL

MELISSA - Thanks. Exactly :)
