Of Books and Blogs and Summer Sales

Some of you may remember that I've shared a little something about the trilogy I'm working on. So, I'm still doing that - although I now have solid drafts of all three books. Yay!

But I'm f-a-r from done. I'm revising and editing like a mad woman. The main character is Grace Elizabeth Hofner. Otherwise known as Gracie.

I have Gracie brain. That means she and her friends and family and problems and chocolate are just about all I think about 24/7. Plus our dogs and Live-In Handyman, of course - they all combine to make sure I move and don't forget them.

As if :)

Oh! Did you notice I've begun the process of cleaning up my blog? I hope it loads faster for you. The blog rolls are NOTICEABLY shorter. If you don't find yours listed here, it means I got cross-eyed in the process and clicked in error. Just let me know, and I'll add you back in. No worries.

I'll be making some more changes here, but not until fall or winter.

One last bit of news to share with you:
Kindle editions of  each of my books will be on sale for 99 cents during the end of July through mid-August. Here are the dates for each book:

July 25-August 1

August 1-8

August 8-15

Each sale runs Monday-Sunday, and is for the Kindle edition only. The paperback editions will remain at regular price.

If you haven't read any of these yet, you're invited to take advantage of the summer sales and give one or more of them a try.

I'll be back here on Monday, August 1. Hope to see you then!

I'm still there!
I've cleared my sidebars once last year and I need to do it again.
Three solid drafts? Congrats!
Good luck with the revisions/editing while you're stuck in "Gracie brain mode".

The blog looks great! And congrats on having those three drafts done, that is fantastic.
Hope the sales are all big successes. I'm trying hard to be more active on Twitter and will make sure to tweet about them!

Sweet-O! The blog definitely is cleaner. I should follow your example. =) Of course, I didn't have an issue with load times on your blog before.

You've been working hard! Love the cleaned-up blog. Good luck with your wip..sounds like it's going great. :)

I had to delete my blogroll entirely after it kept getting attacked by malware. So hard to clean up after that!!!

Have fun with your Grace!

Working on three books at once is impressive.

Hope you get a lot of sales.

Glad to see things are progressing and you're keeping all the balls in the air--the trilogy, cleaning up the blog, having three (!) sales, and keeping those in your household happy. All good. Have a fabulous July.

As long as you're writing and making forward progress, it's all good:)
Gracie brain sounds better than the oddments which clutter my head. Yay for forward progress.

Alex - I'd let mine go for far too long.

Michelle - Thanks! And I'll take those good luck wishes, too :)

Karen - Glad you like the clean look. I was so tired of the other one.

Julie - It's so good to have this story out of my head. Another one is pushing to get in.

Crystal - Much less visual clutter! Fresher, too.

Michael - So happy to have those drafts done. I can work with them. Couldn't do that when part of the story was still in my head.

Elizabeth - Thanks. Progress is good. I wish it was faster, but it's OK as long as I'm moving forward.

Jemi - I've had issues with malware on my blogrolls a couple of times. It is a royal pain.

Bish - Yes, three. It's a long story :)

Diane - I'm glad you think so. Most of the time I think I must have lost my mind to think I could actually do this.

Jan - I do get barked at occasionally ... by all three household members :)

Mark - Yes! Exactly.

EC - LOL! I have plenty of oddments, too. Just the other day I got ambushed by a whole army of them :)

Awesome on the draft! And thanks for letting us know of the reduced prices of the kindle editions.

I can see the lure of finishing the trilogy before releasing any to get all the sidelines and plots and teasers, and stuff in order. It must be exciting and exhausting at the same time.

Congratulations on three working drafts. Wow! And here I am still muddling through on a single edit—although I am making progress.

Your page looks great, cool and clean!

Woot for sales! And chocolate. Mmmm. Best of luck with your writing! I'll be picking up copies of the books I don't have when the sales roll around.

If you need to have someone on your mind, then I'm sure Gracie is a good character to keep you company. Happy writing, revising, and editing!

Love,
Janie

Nas - My pleasure!

Southpaw - I'm making changes in the first book because of things that happen in the second and third ones. I would've been toast if I'd released it without finishing the story. My brain is fried :)

VR - I'm at the very beginning stage of editing now. A long way to go.

Loni - Cool! Enjoy :)

Janie - Gracie is keeping me plenty busy, that's for sure!

Yay for a completed trilogy draft!! That's a huge accomplishment. And nice job on the blog clean-up and the sales too. I hope you sell LOTS!
It's hard NOT to think of chocolate... oh no! there I go again! ;)
Have fun with that editing.

Lexa - Thanks for the good wishes for the sales! Glad you like the new look.

Lynda - I agree. Don't want to even type that sweet word :)

Hmm, I think I have Solomon's Compass. I'll have to check my Kindle.

Nice to see you still around, and wow how productive you've been. Awesome.

And cleaning house seems to never end. First it's toilets, then it's blog margins. Here's to a continued productive writing life. Great to see all that you've done.
CONGRATULATIONS on having three solid drafts under your belt! Good luck with the revisions and editing. If all else fails, a chilled adult beverage can relieve that "Gracie-mind" for a while. :)

Have a super weekend.
Carol Kilgore said…
Dolorah - Still here. Still moving forward. Hope you enjoy Solomon's Compass.

Lee - So true! Same good wishes back to you.

Susan - It's about time for one of those chilled adult beverages just about now :)
I have been working on cleaning up my blog as well. Now, if only I were more technologically knowledgable...

Your blog loaded pretty fast for me. :-D

All the best with finishing Gracie's story.
Carol Kilgore said…
Keith - I'm a techie idiot, so you probably know more than I do.

Murees - Thanks for the cheers and good luck wishes. I need them all!

Misha - Yay! Good to hear.
Cheers to all of that productivity! Good luck putting Gracie from brain to paper.

Your blog always loads fast for us, but if I had to estimate, I'd say it loaded 0.1 second faster today. A new record!
Carol Kilgore said…
Beer - Thanks! You never know when that 0.1 second may come in handy :)
