Tales from the Lonesome Blogger

Once again, this month is just a check-in and update post, so you know I didn't fall in a hole someplace. I won't be visiting you, and let me tell you . . . I'm getting lonesome!

Book Two is with my critique partner, and I'm working on Book Three. Feels really good to finally write those words. I'm hopeful that this book will come together relatively quickly, as books go, since it's the ending of the story.

Any positive vibes you care to send my way for this fast finish actually happening will be most appreciated.

My Letter to the Editor is done, and I'm in the process of sending sample pages to a few. Fingers crossed!

All in all, February was quite productive, especially when you also include real life. A lot of action there, which I'm not ready to talk about just yet. But all good.

Thanks to all of you for hanging with me during this halfway blogging time.

I'm taking April off. Just from blogging - not writing or anything else - because y'all will be all wrapped up in A-Z. If you're participating in the A-Z Challenge, have fun! It's hard work but rewarding and beneficial. If you haven't done it before, give it a try. You'll be glad you did.

I'll be back here on Monday, May 2. With a Real Blog - and I'll be visiting yours in May, too.

Hugs!

Two more months - we'll miss you, but that's a lot of writing time for you. See you in May.

Alex - Thanks for your support through all this. I'm looking forward to being back. Have fun with A-Z!
Where you are with blogging because it sounds similar to where I was with it last year. Can't stay with it yet can't stay away LOL. For the first time since it began, I'm not doing the A to Z Challenge either.

Karen - Last year I changed from blogging once a week to blogging once a month because I'm writing a trilogy. I'm not a fast writer, and I have an active real life. I knew I had to give up time someplace. I wrote two of the three books when I'd planned on completing all three. If I actually wanted to finish it, edit it, and get the first book out there, I knew I needed even more time.

So now I'm writing Book 3. Real life hasn't slowed down. I decided to keep blogging with updates until May so I have a jump start. In May, I'll go back to a regular once a month blog. It's not the blogging that takes time but participating in the whole blogging process of visits and a comment more relevant than 'great topic' or something similar.

I don't think I will ever return to weekly or even bi-monthly blogging. It doesn't leave me enough writing time. Once a month works.

The downside is I miss everyone like crazy. I want to know what all of you are doing and all the other stuff that comes with frequent blogging. But I don't see a way I can be a good blogger and good fiction writer at the same time. Lots of people can, and I bow to their speed and time management techniques. I've just learned what works for me right now.
Lovely to see you pop in - and even lovely to hear that your writing is going well. Yay you.
And I am looking forward to seeing more of you in May.
Glad to hear you're hanging in there! We miss you popping around too, but we know it goes and it's always better to just take the time off than to be a half-assed blogger. Enjoy that time away, and we'll see you in May!

Beer - I knew you guys understood. Won't be too much longer before I'm back.
I have nothing to say, other then I was here

I'm taking off April, too. Sometimes we need to set aside the blogs, and I am not into A to Z.

Love,
Janie

Hugs right back at ya and all my positive thoughts. I've been thinking of you 'cause I'm trying to polish my back-of-the-book blurb for my novel and am bearing in mind your excellent past advice to me. Thank you for it.
Carol Kilgore said…
Helena - Thanks so much! I'm sure you're doing a great job with the blurb. I know how hard they are.

Hi Carol,

I'm delighted you checked-in. I'm checking-in to send you positive vibes. You have been busy and productive. Well done.

I will not be wrapped up in that weird obsession with the alphabet! :) No surprise, there, eh.

You take good care and see you in May, my kind friend.

Gary :)

Hope the good vibes from up here in Canada make it all the way down there. Will it help to tell you we have snow? That's got to bring you a smile! We had the weirdest thunder and lightning storm a week or so ago. So cool with the snow!
Have fun writing & doing the real life gig!

Missing you, but I get the need of taking a break. See you when you're back!
Enjoy all that writing time! :)

Gary - Great to see you again! Oh yes, I would've been quite surprised if you said you were going to swim in the April Alphabet soup mix. See you in May!

Jemi - I love thunder snow! We've had our air conditioner on several times already. It's cool this morning after a week of rain, but it will be 85 tomorrow. I feel those good vibes already! Thank you :)

Misha - May will be here before you know it.

Lynda - Thanks! I am :)

Hi, Carol,

Congrats on finishing book 2 and starting the final book! YAY, you! It really admire your tenacity in getting this done.

I used to have that edge, but other things in my life had to take precedence over writing at this time. But hopefully in May I will be in my new place in FLORIDA writing about Chicago. LOL Still have an unfinished Film noir novella that takes place in Chicago and Miami ... in the 1940's... I just love irony. lol
Carol Kilgore said…
Michael - Wow! Did you sell your Chicago flat? It was so gorgeous. I need to go check your blog. But Florida? Chicago? I'll take milder winters any day :) Your novella sounds really cool. Hurry and get back to it - I want to read!

I know you are doing the right thing, even though it's hard for you to step back from blogging some. But I'm sure everyone who reads your blog understands,, totally, why you're doing this. Can't wait to read the whole trilogy when it's published! Keep writing as much as you can every day.

Jan - Thanks for understanding :)
