...and it wasn't even a full moon!
Happy July!
I wish there was an emoji for fireworks :)
During the first week of June, In Name Only was on sale for 99 cents. That ship has sailed.
It's now the first week of July.
This week- July 6 through July 12 - SOLOMON'S COMPASS, is on sale for 99 cents at Amazon.
When Coast Guard Commander Taylor Campbell returns to Rock Harbor, Texas, to tend to her uncle’s estate, she meets a mysterious former Navy SEAL, Jake Solomon, and learns her uncle didn't drown accidentally. His murder was one in a string of murders of a group of Vietnam veterans who called themselves the Compass Points.
Before her uncle died, he sent Taylor a message with the location of his buried treasure. Unearthing it will place her squarely in the killer’s crosshairs, but she’s determined to fulfill her uncle’s last wish.
Jake, sent to protect her and find the killer, has other plans. His mission would be much easier to accomplish if he could forget how good she’d tasted when he kissed her.
SOLOMON'S COMPASS is the story of a woman who comes face to face with a hidden secret from the Vietnam Era.
Question: My first novel, In Name Only, was on sale the first week of June. My second novel, Solomon's Compass, is on sale the first week of July. When do you think my third novel, Secrets of Honor, will be on sale?
Moving on . . . 'cause it's a total change of subject.
Strange things sometimes happen to me. Here lately, these occurrences are becoming more frequent. I'm only going to tell you the most recent because . . . you know. Plus, I don't want you to think I'm weird or anything :)

The other day, I was taking one of those crazy quizzes on Facebook - like Which Medieval Princess Are You kind of things - yes, I'm horribly guilty of falling for that click bait.
Anyway, I'm clicking along and choosing and one group of choices is so funny I laugh out loud. I'm giggling and the dogs are looking at me as if I've finally traveled around the bend. There may have been a snort. Then I say, through another round of giggles, "Oh, God!"
From my computer speakers I hear a male voice say, "What?"
I. Kid. You. Not.
I'm glad I'd swallowed my coffee.
Then I really pay attention. I mean, something like that is hard to ignore. But I can't stop more giggles. Just in case, I say out loud, "Are you talking to me?"
Silence.
So I look up at the tabs, and the little blue circle is spinning. Ah-ha! I'm certain an ad was trying to load, but didn't make it, and all that got through was a perfectly timed "What?"
That's what had to have occurred. Right?
See you back here on Monday, August 3!

And welcome back. You have been missed.

Lee - My heart pounded a little bit.
And I have a piece of paper taped over my laptop's camera.
And I'm going out on a limb here... Secrets of Honor turn will be the first week of August?
Ding, ding, ding! Correct Answer! SECRETS OF HONOR will be on sale for 99cents August 3-9.
Also, I'm guessing you're working on your blog??? I clicked over there and it says 403 Forbidden.
Jo-Anne - It certainly did me. Last night I installed AdBlock Plus - thank you again A BEER FOR THE SHOWER guys! No more ads. So if it happens again, I'll be freaking big time.
Mark - I hear toasters are THE worst :)
Hope you're having a great summer!
Best of luck with the sale! I hope it's extremely successful!
Anne - I don't want to think about what I would've done if the voice had said 'Yes' when I asked if he was talking to me.
Loni - I woulda REALLY freaked! Thanks for the good wishes :)
Yeah, and I too am a sucker for those FB quizzes. How else would I know that I have a 1500-year-old soul, the intellect of Albert Einstein, the creativity of da Vinci, and the selflessness of Mother Teresa? ;)
I'd have been startled too if that voice had come at me.
Reminds me a little of a joke. This little old Italian lady was kneeling in church, fingering her Rosary beads, and praying fervently. Some workmen, who were up in the balcony doing some repairs, thought they'd have some fun with her. In his deepest, most impressive booming voice, one of them yelled, "THIS IS THE LORD!" The little old lady paused, looked up, shook her head, and then went back to her praying. So the guy did it again. "THIS IS THE LORD!" He got the same reaction the second time, so he figured he'd get her with the third try. But after he yelled the third time, she yelled back, "Shut-a you face! I'm a talk-a to your mother!"
Susan - I think I know that little old Italian lady :)
Milo - Probably as part of something.
"What?"
I'm now going to say "Hello Google" and see what happens....
Quizzes on "Farcebook"! I found out what sort of "wife" I am on Farcebook!
Gary :)
(I'm guilty of playing those quizzes too!!!)
I fall for those quizzes all the time too. I would have been totally freaked out! But the timing couldn't have been more perfect. Wow!
~Jess
Jess - Thanks. Yes, next week will be SECRETS OF HONOR's turn :)
Crystal - I'm still a little freaked, even though since I downloaded Ad Blocker Plus there have no more incidences. Thank goodness!
