Friday's Top Ten

The top ten things about my Work In Progress:

10. Once upon a time,

  9. There was a jewel thief.

  8. Her name was Katia.

  7. She wasn't a real jewel thief

  6. Because she took things as part of of her job.

  5. For The Government.

  4. Yes, THAT government.

  3. But one day she took something

  2. Simply for her own pleasure.

And the #1 thing about my Work In Progress:

  1. She REALLY shouldn't have done that.

Robin - Thanks. And you're supposed to be curious, LOL!
David Oliver saidā€¦
This got me to thinking about ownership. For example, do we own our own lives? The gov't says no. This is something I vehemently disagree with but not an argument for here. Still this thing about who owns what is often not black or white. So I would have to know the circumstances before I rushed to judgment on Katia.
Vallypee saidā€¦
I'm guessing it's ultimately the government who think she shouldn't have done it? Looking forward to hearing more about this Carol!
Elephant's Child saidā€¦
And which of us hasn't made a mistake (or six). Looking forward to learning more (and I agree with David Oliver's comment - all of it).
Luanne G. Smith saidā€¦
Very intriguing. I like!

Great way to build suspense. I love this Top 10!
Patricia Stoltey saidā€¦
That was not only cute, it also made me want to read the book. Excellent logline (in my humble opinion).
Unknown saidā€¦
I love the premise and the feeling of mystery and secrecy you've created here. Sounds fantastic! :-)
Shelley Munro saidā€¦
Very cool. I want to read this. #1 was the hook.
Carol Kilgore saidā€¦
David - No need to overthink anything I write. It's all fun stuff, much more about the characters than any message.

Val - See my answer to David above. I read for escape, and I write for others to escape. If you read a serious message in my novels or find something you need to really think hard about, it's purely an accidental occurrence :)

EC - Read the above LOL. I make so many mistakes I no longer keep track.

Luanne - Cool :)

Jo-Anne - Very true.

Donna - Thanks!

Patricia - Your humble opinion is highly regarded. Thank you :)

Lexa - Great! I'm glad you're intrigued.

Shelley - Yay! Thanks :)
Crystal Collier saidā€¦

That's a fine 10-point story, Carol! Should be some kind of blogfest, don't you think? Summarize your WiP in 10 points. Hmmm...
Carol Kilgore saidā€¦
Crystal - First, I have to finish writing it :)

Emily - Great!

Austin Towers - You know what they say about curiousity. We wouldn't want that to happen :)

Old Kitty - Send her an email and let her know, LOL!

Milo - There you go...your next project!
Helena saidā€¦
I really, seriously like the sound of this story. And those ten points could almost serve as your blurb!
Carol Kilgore saidā€¦
Helena - I'm glad you like it from this little bit. This may work into the opening of the blurb and act as the hook. Will have to see how it shakes out :)
Nas saidā€¦
Wow! The conflict sounds good like the plot! Now I want to read...
Anonymous saidā€¦
You had me at jewel thief....
Carol Kilgore saidā€¦
