The One About Too Much Weekend Fun

Here it is Monday. No award to respond to. No cover reveal or new release to promote. No exciting guest to share really cool stuff with you.

Nothing earth-shattering going on in my life. Just another day in paradise at the Tiki Hut :)

But wait! There's more . . .

For the first time EVER, I'm caught unprepared for what to blog about. It's now Sunday evening. And I got nuthin.

So I'm just going to share some older photos with you.

Fairhope, Alabama
on a rainy Sunday morning.

New Orleans, Louisiana
Music on Bourbon Street

 Big Mama Lantana
in our backyard

Bougainvillea
San Antonio, Texas

Inner Harbor Fountain
Baltimore, Maryland

Tiki Hut
Galveston, Texas

Have you been to any of these places?

Do you plan to go to any of them?

If you've been in my backyard ... we need to talk :)

Have a great week!

You did good for having nothing to say! Not been to any of those places, including your backyard.

We have the bouganvilla and lantana in our yard, as well, and I know Galveston, too. Love the pics!

LOL - now you know why I post photos sometimes.

I love the bougainvillea. That's something we don't have here in Colorado. I usually see it in California and Florida. So pretty.

Love the pics. I wish we had bougainvillea, too. And I wish I'd been to that tiki hut!

Fairhope sounds familiar but not sure I've ever been there. There are lots of pretty in little towns here in the state. Unfortunately, my home town is not one of them. Ashamed to say I've never been to New Orleans or Galveston. I always loved that song though...Galveston, oh Galveston... It was popular when I was in Viet Nam. I have been to Houston. My elder son lives there now.

I think it is a fine post.

Been to New Orleans and San Antonio, I've been to Alabama but not Fairhope (same with Maryland and Texas). All beautiful places.

I haven't been to any of these places, but I love the flowering shrubs! I miss the Bougainvillea. We had it in South Africa and it was always one of my favourite signs of summer. Photos will always get you out of trouble, won't they :-) Your Tiki hut looks lovely on the water there!

Alex - All these places are cool, so I hope you can visit them one day.

Yvonne - Now you have more reasons to visit us!

Shelly - I think it's impossible to kill either one :)

Em-Musing - Easy to write, too :)

Diane - Right!

Been to Baltimore. I used to live in No. Virginia.

It's weird to get blog posts to ourselves. Isn't it?
Carol Kilgore said…
Val - They're so pretty and come in lots of colors around here. I love the coast :)

Rachna - Whatever works, right?

Tara - We'll meet for a margarita :)

Robin - There are lots of places I want to visit, too.

Lee - Maybe one day I'll invite everyone to a Backyard Blowout!

VR - I've been to New Orleans many times, too. Love it! See my answer to Lee right above about my backyard :)

I've been to Bourbon St. Don't remember being in your backyard.

Dang, I haven't been to any of these places, but I liked looking at the pics. The flowers and feeling of summertime are much appreciated as I sit in an office on a typical Monday.

No, I haven't gone to these places yet.

Sharing pictures is a great idea if one doesn't have a blog post. I sometimes share pictures or videos during my more random posts.

I love bougainvillea.

Lovely photos!
For not havin' nothin', you done good. :)
Ok there is no such thing as too much fun over the weekend.....great photos

Linda K - Galveston is great to visit :)

Susan - You bet! I've been there, too, but I only have print photos. And no scanner.

Diane - Hi again :)

Elizabeth - I loved Fairhope! That lantana is one plant.

Janie - Call ahead so the dogs aren't out there.

Mary - I liked Baltimore. We once lived in Virginia Beach.

Good pics never fail--nicely done Carol.

I like visiting the sights in Baltimore, but don't feel safe there. Never been to the Big Easy and I am just about to enjoy a beach trip in your neck of the woods. Not sure if we'll make it to San Antonio this time or not.
Carol Kilgore said…
LD - That's because you drank one too many Hurricanes in New Orleans :)

Helena - You've been to so many places I haven't been. These are all close by and fun :)

Medeia - I think bougainvillea is beautiful.

Melissa - Thanks!

Jo-Anne - Good to know! I'll remember that :)

Slamdunk - Have fun! I'm in need of a beach. Soon :)
I didn't run into Karen while I was there, but I've been to the Inner Harbor and New Orleans too. For not knowing what to write, you managed to pull it off, kiddo. That's a handy talent to have.
Big Mama Lantana, love that! Nope. I haven't been to any of those places. And if I was ever in your back yard, I'd never tell you!

Never anything wrong with a photo post - love these! I've been to New Orleans but none of the rest of these places. Wish I could say I've been to San Antonio - someday!

Lovely pictures! I have actually been to San Antonio and Galveston, but many years ago!

Cool post! Thanks for sharing the pics. No wormholes though.
Carol Kilgore said…
Susan - Too bad you and Karen couldn't sit and chat over crab cakes and beer :)

Words Crafter - Uh-oh. I'll be watching :)

Julie - Come to SA in spring or fall. Summer is HOT!

CATachresis - Hope you enjoyed Texas!

Stephen - The wormholes were all too blurry. They kept squirming....

Oh yes!
Husband and I went to this lovely, quaint cafe in Fairhope once. It's a charming town isn't it? The cafe was in an old, two-story home, very rustic and creak-y, plus awesome coffee.

New Orleans is one of my favorite cities in the whole universe. I've had the best pizza of my life at Angeli's... sun-dried tomatoes and feta cheese, oh my word.

Haven't been to your backyard, but was raised near Lantana, FL..?

Husband and I have driven through San Antonio several times.

That's about it! Pretty awesome photos. :)
Lovely, lovely photos. Thanks for sharing. I've never been to any of those places.

Raquel - I think we're a lot alike. I think we may have been in the same Fairhope cafe. And I love New Orleans, too. A tiny bit freaky about Lantana :)

Nas - I've never been to Fiji or anyplace in the South Pacific, so I guess we're even :)

I used to live in Houston, so I've been to a number of them.

I'm going back to New Orleans and San Antonio next year for RT and RWA. :D

I can related to the "what am I going to write about now?" feeling. Now that I'm not blogging about writing, I have a feeling that's going to be my problem.

Glad that you able to find me again. I almost feel like I was shoved in a witness protect program after what happened. :P
Carol Kilgore said…
Stina - I'd like to get together with a lot of people next year in SA.

I saw a post from someone on Twitter or FB this morning. It was either Gwen Gardner or Susan Kaye Quinn - I don't remember which. Or where, LOL!
I have been to New Orleans. It was after Katrina, and we went for my stepdaughter's wedding. None of the other places though.

And I think photos are a great way to fill in on a day when words escape us. I could do the same if I ever get around to loading my latest batch of photos onto my computer.
I've also been to New Orleans, and would love to visit Texas!

Love the pics! I've been to San Antonio, of course. Grew up there. Great place, but too hot in the summer.
Carol Kilgore said…
Patricia - I think I may do photos more often. I love New Orleans.

Julie - Spring or fall, unless you love the heat.

Linda G - We're going through our annual 100-degree days now.

I've been to all of those places except the one in Alabama...and I haven't been in your backyard, but we had identical, big lantana bushes all around when I was a kid. I loved them. Kids loved grabbing handfuls of the little flowers and sprinkling them on each other's heads.
I love the photo of the music on Bourbon Street and also of the tiki hut! How appropriate since it's the title of your blog :)
Ooh, I've always wanted to go see Bourbon Street.

And hey, sometimes a nice picture post is a refreshing change up. We all appreciate a little eye candy.

I haven't been to any of them! I really need to!
I've been to New Orleans and loved it - the energy, the food, the people. I hope to go back some day.

Be well, Carol.

Rula - Smiling about sprinkling the flowers on kids' heads. The variety of this particular Lantana is Confetti :)

OE - The group played great music, too. Glad you made the Tiki Hut connection :)

ABFS - Easy reading for a hot summer day!

Emily - One day :)

Robyn - Exactly!

Pat - You win the prize! Except I don't have a prize :(
