I Blog, You Blog, We Blog

Way back on Memorial Day - like, last month - the awesome and talented VR Barkowski nominated me for the Versatile Blogger Award. Thanks, VR! I appreciate your thinking of me.

As most of my thinking now involves my WIP, it's kind of nice not to have to think of a topic for a blog post :)

Here are Da Rules:
Create a post for the Versatile Blogger Award.
Thank the blogger who nominated you and link back to her blog.
Reveal seven (7) little known facts about yourself.
   Nominate others for the award.

I've shared quite a few things about myself during this month and last, so it may be a stretch to come up with seven new ones - especially following the great things VR shared. But I'm all for giving it a go.

1. I'm basically a private person.

2. I like champagne :)

3. I get bored with most things very quickly.

4. My sister and I think so much alike it's freaky. We buy people the same birthday cards. And gifts. Unplanned.

5. I'm not much for jewelry, but I love rings. I would wear fifty at once, but I wouldn't be able to type. Nor would it look very good. I do wear four all the time, all given to me by Live-In Handyman.

6. When I was a very young girl, my hair was blonde. I still have blonde moments episodes.

7. I was once picked up by two men on the streets of New York. Literally. Each one grabbed an elbow when I tripped and fell off a curb.

As for nominating others for this award ... I nominate all of you!

You're all deserving, and the award is yours for the taking. Especially if you don't want to have to think of something new to blog about :)

Have a great week!

The same cards and gifts? That is freaky. Congratulations!

My cousin and I do the same thing. One time we were Skyping and we wanted to show each other our new purses...it was the same one. And she lives in Philly, I lived in Ohio. Always fun to learn more about you.

I'm not much of jewelry person, either, but I occasionally wear necklaces. I used to have a charm bracelet that I love, but for no reason, it keeps coming undone. :(

Congrats on your award. Two rings and earrings, that's all you get out of me.
Jennifer Shirk said…
I love jewelry but earrings not so much. I always forget to wear them.

Congratulations!

I would love to join the challenge but can't. My sons already think I'm nutty. If I reveal seven things they don't know about me, it would be ammo enough to cart me off to the looney bin.
I love costume jewelry - rings, earrings, bangles... though I haven't been wearing too much of it in recent months...
I also like silver earrings and bangles.

I used to bleach my hair and I still have blonde moments, too!

Alex - Yep.

Em-Musing - That's how we are. We don't live near each other either. We also send things to people out of the blue that arrive on the same day.

Stina - That's weird. I would think I wasn't supposed to wear it for some reason.

Liza and Jennifer - Y'all are like the Yin and the Yang of jewelry wearers :)

David - LOL!

Michelle - I like to wear silver, too.

Yvonne - Thank you. You're a very sweet lady.

Diane - Then you know exactly what I mean :)

I learn something new about you every time I stop by! So...did these clumsy New Yorkers pick you up with your permission? I'm thinking I need to hear more about that!!

I was blonde as a child as well. Here's a joke that my dad's friend used to tell me when I was a kid:

Q: How do you make a blonde's eyes light up?

A: Shine a flashlight in her ear.

I'm lucky. I no longer have blond moments. My hair's totally gray so I can have senior moments. *grin*

Chivalry isn't dead, even in NY! :D
Enjoyed learning more about you.

That thing with your sister is very unusual. That is a true case of Thinking Alike.

I also liked the one about being picked up by two men at the same time in NYC. Very funny, Carol:)
Carol Kilgore said…
Linda K - I was the clumsy one. They helped me up and made sure I was OK.

M - Funny!

LD - Are they as silly as blonde moments :)

Melissa - Far from dead. Especially in NY.

Robin - We do share some sort of special connection.

I, too, wear four rings everyday and would love to wear more. But I wear plenty of other jewelry, too.

Love,
Janie

Oooo champagne and oj is one of my favorite. And like you, I'm a fairly private person. Cheers on your award.

Great insider info about you, Carole. I'll bring champagne next time.

Congrats on your award.

We have some mutual quirks, lol! Ditto on #1, 3,5. I don't like champagne--unless it's a really good one, much prefer a good whiskey. Always have on at least two or three rings and when I worked away from home I always wore earrings. Dangles are my choice. Now I only wear them when I leave the house. :-)

Love the way you did #7!

Congratulations on your award; you are for sure a versatile blogger.

One of my sisters and I also buy the same cards and gifts, not knowing the other has bought the same.

I'm with you on the rings and being easily bored with a lot of things. Congrats on your award.
Carol Kilgore said…
Janie - Sometimes I wear earrings or a necklace. I love bracelets, but I never wear them because they make me crazy when I do. I can't get them off fast enough.

Julie - Mimosas :) I hear ya!

Lee - Cool!

Sia - I don't often have an opportunity to drink champagne. I'm more a beer girl.

Donna - Em-Musing has the same connection with a cousin.

Joy - Birds of a feather!

Congratulations on a well-deserved award.
Love champagne and earrings. And your psychic link with your sister is amazing.
Congratulations on the award! Kind of cool, you and your sister! And I use every blonde hair I can. I need something to blame for my um...spacey moments :)

You deserve the award and many more.

Me, I prefer earrings and necklaces, and while I've had moments of synchronicity with other people I've got nothing like what you and your sister share. Freaky indeed. I also get bored quickly, and since that can be a sign of intelligence you and I must be geniuses.
Emily R. King said…
The only jewelry I like are rings too. Of course, if I could afford diamonds, I would probably change my mind. :)
Stephen Tremp said…
Hahaha laughing at number 7. Must have been a blonde episode.
I am also a private person who likes champagne even if it goes to my head and makes me drunk
Very well-deserved award Carol. I hope you have a great Tuesday :-)

ConCats on your award. I've been having blonde moments since I was born with dark brown hair!! In the end I had to go with the inevitable and do the blonde thing properly!! ;)
Carol Kilgore said…
EC - Thanks. I'll toast to that :)

Words Crafter - I know that feeling well!

Helena - I'm certain we are!

Emily - Yes, well, there is that :)

Stephen - You nailed it!

Jo-Anne - It's those tiny bubbles :)

OE - Thanks! I hope the same for you :)

CATachresis - Smart woman!

Congrats on the award!

The blonde moments never really depart, do they? I still suffer from them as well.
Verrrrry cool about you and your sister. My best friend and I have sent each other the same greeting cards before, too, and we think it is totally neat to be that attuned to each other.
nutschell said…
ooh same cards and gifts! you guys must be psychically linked. haha.

Laura - So right - those moments are always there - and I never know when they will happen.

Susan - We think it's neat, too :)

Nutschell - Maybe I should write a story about it LOL!
Rula Sinara said…
Those were fun facts! :). I have jewelry, but the only item I'll wear daily are earrings. They don't get in the way.
Morgan said…
I'm very private too... and your New York story is so romantic! You need to put that in one of your books! :D
Ah, yes, good champagne is so scrumptious :)
Congrats on your award
Carol Kilgore said…
Rula - I like earrings, but I rarely wear them at home.

Morgan - I'm laughing because that story was not romantic at all when it occurred. But I can see how it could be made into a romantic scene. I'll keep that in mind. Thanks!

Lynda - I think so, too :) Thanks!

My sisters and I have bought the same cards too! People say we are kind of like clones of each other.

I also get bored very quickly. I sometimes worry that I have the attention span of a toddler LOL.

Congrats on your award!

Me too Carol! Fellow champagne lover. And awww, NYers are the best!

And you're not twins?

I don't wear much jewelry, but I have a thing for bracelets.
Carol Kilgore said…
Julie - I can relate to the attention span.

Johanna - Yes they are!

Nas - I like jewelry better on other people.

Medeia - Nope, not twins. Several years apart.
