Summer and Sales
Our subdivision's semi-annual garage sale was on Saturday. The HOA holds one in the spring and one in the fall. We really didn't have enough to participate this time, but it didn't stop us. And we ended up making a couple of hundred dollars for a treadmill, some metal shelving, and a few old dishes and pans. To give proper credit, Live-In Handyman did almost all the work.
I'm continually amazed by things that sell and don't sell. This sale was no exception. Thought for sure the bicycles would go, but probably spring is a better time.
So the fall garage sale is history, and Halloween is the last day our pool will be open until March. November 1 will mark the official end of summer here in San Antonio.
I planned to tie this into writing, but I'd have to work too hard for that to happen - LOL! Maybe I should have titled this post Smoke and Mirrors :)
Do you have blogs like this? Ones that start off one way and end up something else? How do you handle it?
It's happened to me before, but not too often. Because it did today, I decided to share a few photos to help you hold on to summer for a day or so longer. And a couple of the doggies, too, of course.

Have a wonderful week.
LOL on the end of summer part. We've already had snow where I live. Summer ended a few weeks ago for us. Though we did have nice weather yesterday. :D
Have a great week!
It is amazing what sells and what doesn't.
Have a great week, Carol!
Yvonne.
Love the mangos! I'm looking forward to fall, but winter? Not so much.
Summer already left us here in Ohio and we're enjoying a lovely Autumn. Night time temperatures have flirted with freezing a couple times and the fall colors are in the trees.
Love the pooch pics.
Alex - Yes we did. Been trying to unload that old treadmill and shelving for a while now :)
Stina - I hear you on the 500 words! Snow already? Brrrr. Although I much prefer an early snow to a late one.
Shirley - Cool! Happy to pep up your cold weather. Dogs are appropriately hugged :)
Laura - When I was looking through, I didn't remember taking these doggie shots, so I decided it was a good time to use them :)
I love Fall, but it's a little sad summer's over. We had a hot one here in St. Louis, so I'm enjoying the 70s and low humidity, though.
Yvonne - Thanks! You have a great week, too.
Teresa - Cool :)
Julie D - I try to have a plan, but this one fell apart. The dogs are quite spoiled. Sigh :)
Bish - Good to know I'm not the only one. Not looking forward to winter here, either.

J.L. - The fruits are mangoes. The flowers/plant is Pride of Barbados.
LD - Exactly! Can't believe you're near freezing already. I'm still wearing shorts and flip-flops. Not ready for jeans yet.
Johanna - LOL! Just heard we may get a touch of fall later in the week with lows in the 50s.
Suzanne - Our leaves haven't begun to turn here yet. Our autumn will provide great weather, but it's pretty low on the beauty part. Our leaves generally go from green to yellow, red, or brown and then off within just a few days. And usually somewhere between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
November 1 is the end of summer for you? Here in Colorado we're lucky if we haven't a had a snowstorm before then. I'm glad you sold some stuff at the garage sale; I have stuff around my place that I don't want to add to my Goodwill pile, but living in an old (1939) condo building means there's no chance for a community garage sale. Dang.
Nutschell - I think it's fun to watch them, too.
Anne - I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!
Helena - Probably it will still be warm enough for shorts until closer to Thanksgiving. And maybe beyond. But we will most likely have a few cooler days along the way. That's what we call fall - when we have more cool days than warm.
And I truly, truly hope my last garage sale is behind me. I've made some good money doing them, but I hate it so much when people try to haggle down the price of something that's already marked a freaking dollar!
Probably because I'm a pantser, my writing always takes an unexpected turn. In fact, I write for the surprise.
We're still running the A/C here too.
Husband loves to haggle, so he's always in charge of that.
VR - Maybe we should just vote to skip winter this year :)
Carrie - Thanks! Just a slice of real life :)
I tend to plan most things, including my blog posts. Sometimes my weekend random posts aren't what I expected.
Talli - That's what I said. Or something close, LOL!
Oooh, do love the pics, I've tried mangos for the first time in my life this summer :)
It is funny what will sell and what won't at garage sales. It's kind of like books too. YOu never know what a reader will pick up or why. LOL
Brenda Kay - Glad you like my babies :)
Linda J - There has been much living going on with this writer for the past month or so. And it's all been good :)
Jennifer - There you go! So true about books and readers. You could have finished my post in one sentence!
Emily - Ha! Same here :)
My "cosmea" flowers are still blooming away. Sure wish it could stay like this till March.
Glad your cosmea are still blooming!
