You Want Tacos With That?

All right! Look at everybody. Carol said just a few folks would be stopping in. I guess I better introduce myself before you call the blog police to find out why I'm here instead of her.

My name's Charlie Duran. I've lived in South Texas all my life, and right now I call Padre Island home. I own the Pink Tortilla. It's plain and simple, but it's been good to me and my family. Gabriel Duran is my son. You'll find out about Gabriel and the Pink Tortilla when you read IN NAME ONLY.

Carol said I shouldn't tell you anything that would be a spoiler for the story. From my perspective, that's not easy. So I guess I'll tell you that except for Summer, I was the first one of us to introduce myself to her. She didn't change too much about me - just moved me a few miles east to Padre Island instead of leaving me on Corpus Christi Beach where we first met. I can't complain about that.

I guess you're wondering where to find Carol.

Today she went over to chat at Sia McKye Over Coffee. Tell her I sent the cabana boys down to the pier to bring back some specks. I'm going to serve up some fish tacos for a lunch special.

Hey, Charlie! I'm starting your fish fry scene now, and it's making my mouth water. I LOVE a good fish fry...until my hubby tricks me and feeds me a mountain oyster. You throw an awesome party!!

I saw Carol over at Sia's already. Great stuff there. Looking forward to lunch.

It's been years since I visited South Padre Island. No doubt the fish tacos are far better than those in West Virginia.

I'm headed over to see Carol at Sia's. I'm hungry.

Linda G - Make us part of your book tour. You can sign at the Pink Tortilla :)

Linda K - Now that's just wrong! I would never do that. We have REAL oysters here.

Anne - We're prepping now.

Andrea - Fish tacos in West Virginia? What do they know! Come visit us. I'll feed you real food!

Ciara - Come back for lunch :)

Who doesn't like a good taco? I know I do!

Stephen - I make a lot of different tacos. You can eat a different one every day.

Alex - The lunch rush is over, but there's still one good-size trout on ice.

Aloha,

If the tacos are as good as Taco Cabana... I'll be back for seconds :)~

(P.S. thanks for the follow, and right back at y'all :)

Who can turn down tacos?

I'm headed over.

oh man oh man I loves fish tacos! I'll bring my novascotia-mex creation - enchiladas roja with lunenburg sausage - you have no idea what a divine mix it is. I love a mutt of a meal!

Mark - Taco Cabana doesn't hold a candle to the Pink Tortilla. Of course I could be prejudiced since I own the place.

Medeia - Tell them you know me when you come in. I'll treat you right.

Jan - Come to my kitchen! We'll cook and share some wine.
I'm heading over to Sia's now! Are you open for midnight snacks? Julie
I've just returned from Sia's place. What a fun interview!
Carol Kilgore said…
Julie - Not unless you come to my place. I'm home by eleven :)

Michelle - I'll pass your comment on to Carol. You want a breakfast taco?

I think I need to check the freezer, everyone's just made me frightfully hungry here.

I didn't think I was a crime fiction sort of gal, but your characters and short story sure are pulling me in. :)
Great post Carol.

Yvonne.

CarrieBoo - As a restaurant owner, making people hungry is my job.

Carol will be happy you like us!

Yvonne - You're looking mighty nice today. I'm Charlie, but I'll tell Carol :)

I loved the name Pink Tortilla and the description of the fire. Amazing.

Lots of the setting details made me sigh and want to be there (eating a taco).

LR - Sorry to be late responding. It's been busy on the Island. Carol said it was almost enough to write another book about. I'll pass your comments along to her. I'm sure she'll be pleased to hear them and happy you liked our story. Let me know when you're coming, and I'll show you around.
Fun post, Carol! I'm off to visit you on Sia's blog!
Sounds like you're having a great time!
