Let's Get Busy!

I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend as much as I did.

What did I do that was so special?

N.O.T.H.I.N.G.

And it was awesome.

I read. Watched an old movie. Listened to music. Played with the dogs. Relaxed. Recharged.

I spent less than an hour each day doing anything productive computer-wise or writing-wise.

I am ready to get back to business!

Today I'm chatting with Emily King at Get Busy Writing. After my lazy weekend, I better Get Busy Writing :)

Oh, yeah...I've heard rumors that Emily is doing a giveaway.

Interested?

Jennifer - Nothing isn't usually my favorite thing, but I've been so busy for the last few months that it was pure bliss :)

I'm looking forward to doing nothing this evening (after having been a reluctant social butterfly last 4 days). Ahh.

Doing nothing is something, though, right? :)
Carol Kilgore said…
Karen - I was way overdue for a no-load weekend.

LR - Enjoy!

CarrieBoo - Of course :)

That was a great interview at Emily's blog.

I love doing nothing. It's a great break from doing too much.

Alex - Thanks! Saw you :)

Emily - And thanks back for hosting me. I'm having fun and meeting LOADS of new people :)

Medeia - Thanks. It was a much needed break!

Slamdunk - I like lazy times like that every once in a while, but usually I prefer to do at least a little something.

Nutschell - It was a great weekend :)
Doing nothing sounds like sheer bliss! Hope you enjoyed it.
I'll stop by asap.

S.P. - This was my first in a long time, and way overdue. Welcome to the Tiki Hut!

I don't think I have ever had the opportunity to "do nothing." I wouldn't know how to be!
J.L. Campbell said…
Now that's a good way to recharge your batteries. Now I should be writing, but I'm coming over to see what's going on.

Oh, I would love a day where I did NOTHING! Glad you had that day.

I'm trying to get busy, too! I;m headed over to Emily's to see if the rumors are true. :)

I weekend of nothing... sounds wonderful. I got to spend all day Sunday on my writerly life. THAT was wonderful as well :)

Weekends like that are very relaxing.

Doing nothing is the best thing to do after a long period of writing. Even though I always have to take care of my daughter, I CAN carve out time during our days to do whatever relaxes me. How right you are that we need this to "recharge." So now you can write another awesome book. In Name Only was SO SO excellent. Incredible twists and turns of the plot, the final one a stunner. I LOVED the characters. And the vivid details of the place are superb. I'm gearing up, as you can see, to get a review posted for you, hopefully today! I'm eager, eager, eager to read your next novel, so I hope you're now recharged!!!!

I hopped over to Get Busy Writing. I am busy, but need to get on a schedule.
Carol Kilgore said…
Crack You Whip - I would not enjoy that kind of weekend very often, but I really needed the down time.

J.L. - LOL!

Clarissa - Well, I did "stuff" but at my own pace. And no work. I did cook.

Michael - They are true!

Kelley Lynn - I love days like yours!

Sometimes we all need some time to just step back and do nothing.
Carol Kilgore said…
Shelley - It was wonderful. I may do it again next year :)

Ann - I'm so happy you liked In Name Only. Thanks for sharing here :)

Janet - I schedule my time M-F. I usually still work on the weekends, but I don't schedule then unless I have so much to accomplish that it's necessary.

Nicole - Exactly. It felt very good to do just that :)

A couple months ago a friend was in town and I spent a whole day just farting around with her -- shopping, eating, talking. I need more goof off days like that but I can't afford them.
Peggy Eddleman said…
Sounds like a fabulous weekend! I could use one of those right about now. :)
Carol Kilgore said…
Helena - I can't either :)

Peggy - I learned that the months before a book comes out are unbelievably busy and hectic. Then you have about 30 seconds to catch your breath :)
Doing nothing every once in a while is wonderful. I've kind of let myself off the hook the last week or so, and thoroughly enjoyed myself! Now I kind of have to pay for it, but only by missing self-imposed deadlines. Totally forgivable for a little break. Glad you had a nice weekend and a great interview at Emily's!
Carol Kilgore said…
Lara - Thanks for stopping by. I think I'll list one "nothing weekend" on my next year's goals :)

Oh I love nothing days too--it's amazing how much can get done after a good nothing day!
By the way, I love that photo on your blog header! Looking at it I feel instantly relaxed :)
Carol Kilgore said…
Oh gosh, Coleen, I missed this the other day. It's been a hectic week, and my burst of energy earlier in the week had fizzled to its normal level.

The header photo is of the Gulf of Mexico from Galveston Island.

It relaxes me, too :)
