Friday's Top Ten

NOTICE: Something weird is going on with my Google Account. If I should go MIA, I'll be back ASAP. Not sure of the problem. Keep your fingers crossed for a happy outcome :)

= = = = =

I'm participating in D.L. Hammons' Deja Vu Blogfest. This is the first blogfest I've ever participated in, so I hope I'm playing by the rules.

Since Friday is Top Ten day, I looked back through old top tens and found an early one that didn't receive any comments.

This post is from Friday, May 15, 2009.

Happy Friday!

Top ten things to love about dogs:

10. Wagging Tails
"See how much I love you?"

9. Soft Ears
"Oh yes, right there!"

8. Big Smiles
"I just shredded the newspaper in the other room and you didn't see me."

7. Good Sits
"Okay, just for you. What's next?"

6. Comfort
"I'm here Mommy. Everything is all right."

5. Play Time
"Now! Now! Can we play now? Pleeeze!!!"

4. Protection
"The UPS man is MINE!"

3. Nap Time
"Sigh."

2. Doggy Drool
"Look! I made a picture on the window!"

And the #1 thing to love about dogs:

1. Kisses
"I love you!"

I don't have a dog, but I do like how a good dog tale wags like crazy for a loving master.
Laura Eno saidā€¦
These are spot on! I love the smiles that are hiding something and what is it about the UPS man that makes dogs go bonkers? Mine hear that truck going down the street and I can't hear myself think for the antics they go through!
Julie Flanders saidā€¦
Aww, I love this one! And #1 is so true, I love Clancy kisses. :) Great list, Carol, I'm glad you re-posted it. Happy Weekend! :)
Joanne saidā€¦
Thanks for the canine chuckles today :)
Slamdunk saidā€¦
This deserves a rerun.

Doggie play time is a must here. Our dog will start playing and soon the kids will all join in--even if the weather is cold.

I can't believe they never received any comments the first time around. I love them all! Dogs are wonderful!
Unknown saidā€¦
I love these. I can so identify with #2. One of my dogs spends half her life lying in the window perfecting her dog art. I don't have the heart to clean it. ;)

Have a great weekend!
Linda G. saidā€¦
Aw, those are great! Love them. :)
VR Barkowski saidā€¦
Awesome list! Right now I'm living #4. It's too early for UPS, so my pup has decided to practice his protection bark on the movers across the street...for the past two hours. *pressing fingertips to temples*
Linda Kage saidā€¦
Ahhh!! That's a good one to replay. And I don't even feel any deju vu!
Luanne G. Smith saidā€¦
Aw, now I gotta go give my dog a hug.

Have a great weekend. :)

I remember fondly all the dogs my folks had as I was growing up. Sweethearts all. Great post.
Deja Vu to you.
Carol Kilgore saidā€¦
Liza - The tail tells the tale :)

Laura - Same here.

Julie - Smiling :)

Joanne - You're welcome.

Slamdunk - There's just something about a playful dog :)

I love this, Carol. The one about the UPS man really resonated with me. I swear, my dog goes crazy whenever he sees a truck. Oddly, if a real burglar were to break into my home, our dog would lead him to the valuables for a pat on the head and a peanut butter treat.(:
Carol Kilgore saidā€¦
Janet - I was just getting my blog up and running when I posted this and still had very few followers or commenters.

Shirley - I know that feeling :)

Linda G - Woof.

VR - We have days like that, too.

Linda K - LOL!
BECKY saidā€¦
Ahhhh, I totally agree on every single one!
Claudia Zurc saidā€¦
Aawww! I love this top 10! How is it that you didn't get any comments the first time around? I absolutely love dogs so I agree with your list and much more. ;)
Dogs rule!!!

The best thing about dogs is that they love without judgment.

I think that tail thump sound is one of my favorite things about dogs. They just can't hide happiness.
Anne Gallagher saidā€¦
I've always had two or more at the same time so they don't get lonely. I couldn't ever live without them.
Great post.
Alex J. Cavanaugh saidā€¦
No one loves more unconditionally than a dog. And the smiles one was funny!
Golden Eagle saidā€¦
That's a wonderful list! :)

I wish my daughter and I could have a dog because I have truly come to love them.

I've enjoyed all of the Top Tens of yours that I've read, Carol! And this one is delightful.

I've noticed several people complaining about Google today. Personally, I'm trying very hard to keep my computing life "simple" these days!

Have a wonderful holiday season!!

I love my dogs and your top 10 rocks! Glad you joined the blogfest. This is my second one and I think they're great, but I don't think I'm going to make it to all the blogs in one day! Great turn out, huh?

Great re-post. So sweet. I adore dogs.

I hope everything's okay with your account.
Carol Kilgore saidā€¦
Helen - Yes, they do. It's amazing and wonderful.

Julie - Unless the tail is thumping against your side of the bed at three in the morning because the dog wants to go outside.

Anne - This is our first real time for two dogs. Very different from only one.

Alex - One of mine has that smile thing down pat!

Golden Eagle - Thank you.
Alison Miller saidā€¦

Carol Kilgore saidā€¦
Ann - I wish you could have a dog, too. Thanks for the kind words about my Top Tens :)

Lydia - It's a fun blogfest!

Ciara - Google can be challenging, too :) One of my dogs is easy-going. The other is high-maintenance in every way you can imagine...but so worth it.

Denise - We dog lovers are everywhere :)

Tracy Jo - Dogs are really good at making people smile.

Hi, Carol! Returning your Deja Vu visit!

Doggie ears are the best, especially on a German Shepherd! From full alert, radar dish, listening-to-everything pointiness ... to ears down, sadness/guilt/making-YOU-feel guilty flatness.

Have a great weekend!
Catherine Denton saidā€¦
What a fun post. I especially love the dog's thoughts on the smile. :)

Thanks for stopping by and following My Blog!
Oh, Carol, that's an adorable list!

Medeia - I should know for sure next week.

Alison - Same here!

Stephen - Allergic to cats, so that's one problem I don't have.

Dianne - We've never had a German Shepherd. Ours are a border collie and a blue heeler.

Catherine - Yeah...dogs are like that :)
Carol Kilgore saidā€¦
Doris - Merry Christmas to you, too!

Margo - Thanks for visiting.

Hi Carol when Google is testing a server functional Blogger bad, I hope to have it resolved soon.

Christmas is endearing, peace and happiness come to your home.
a hug.
Talei saidā€¦
oh #1 - Kisses!!! Yes and I love you. Fab.

Ps: Blogger is a devil sometimes, I did notice your avi jumping up and down on mine too .;) Have a lovely week my friend! x
Great list! I'm especially fond of #2. We have 3 dogs who spend a lot of time in the den. The den has french doors. So I put up a sign I found that says, "My windows aren't dirty. That's my dog's nose art."
LR saidā€¦
Haha. Love No. 8.

Merry Christmas to your dogs. :) Hope Santa brings them something nice.
Carol Kilgore saidā€¦
Ricardo - Merry Christmas!

Talei - Uh-oh. Time to go check. I hope I've stopped jumping :)

Carol - I LOVE that sign. I'll be looking for a duplicate :)

LR - That's a grin that's special. Their gifts are already on Santa's sleigh - or so an elf told me :)
