I love scuttlebutt and persnickety! I would add 'gob-smacked' 'verklempt' and 'rococo' .

Great list! I tend to use "thingy" a lot, especially to describe any mechanical object/filler for the lost word that fell into the abyss of my mind.

OMG! Chimichanga reminds me of that episode of Two and a Half Men where Alan's second wife kept saying chimichanga because she liked the way it sounded!

Oh, those are great! I also like "defenestrate." Both saying it, and the definition ("to throw something or someone out of a window").

Carol, I love all the words. And the minute I read "chimichanga", I too thought of the Two and a Half Men episode! The character of Kandi was hilarious! Wish she was still on the show!

I also like shenanigans and I say "thingy" all the time!

Scuttlebutt is cute. :)

I just returned from Ireland and some of the town names made me laugh too. "Ballybunion" and "Ballysally" etc.

Don't ask why, but what immediately came to mind is BRIDGE. The other is SLUSH. (Maybe because one is kinda hard and abrupt sounding and the other is soft and mushy?) As a kid, I would proudly say antidisestablishmentarianism when prompted. :)
