It's Spring!

Here in San Antonio, it really is spring. For reals.

Our temps have held in the 80s for afternoon highs for more than a week. Nights are mostly low 60s. Last week was Spring Break in Texas.

I know many of you are still experiencing cold. And even snow. So I'm going to share a tiny bit of our Texas spring with you.

Our redbud tree:

And our one zucchini plant:

I love spring! It will arrive where you live, too, if it isn't there already. Get ready :)

Lucky you! We have snow here in the Northeast today. I think the groundhog is playing a very bad joke on us.

Oh, you're so ahead of of us! I'm jealous.

Our dogwood trees are just beginning to bud. I love this time of year with all of the wonderful colors (and warm weather).

That's the extent of your garden? One zucchini plant?

I've been loving the spring weather here in East Texas, too. A bit cooler than San Antonio, but that is just fine with me.

I love Spring! It's beautiful here and it allows me to snicker at my sister in Minnesota. I took pictures today of our rose tree and the flowering garden arbor.

It's hard to believe Spring will truly arrive, amidst the 6 inches of snow predicted here for tonight :/

I will believe, I will believe ...

Dear Carol,
I hope you have some inside scoop about spring arriving were the snow is. Yesterday we had about another 6 inches of snow. But the numbers are on our side.... I'm starting count down. Love to you.

The Happy Whisk - Same to you :)

Colette - He does that. I've been in a blizzard in April. I know it happens.

Lydia - It's wonderful.

LR - We've had beautiful days.

Mason - I love dogwoods!

Maryann - LOL. For some reason, our zucchini plants THRIVE. This one will produce more than enough for us. We also have several tomatoes, peppers, tomatillos, and a variety of herbs. Maybe some beans later, but none yet.

Helen - I can relate to that :)

Joanne - It will. It will.

Manzanita - The birds confirm it. They keep passing through day by day on their way north.
It's spring here, too! And I love it!
oh please am wilting in Houston right now. You have all skipped spring and headed right to summer. Its so hot.
Happy spring! I'll enjoy it myself once the wind stops blowing its fool head off.

We're getting more and more hints it's right around the corner. Planting starts in two weeks!

Elizabeth - It's a wonderful time of the year.

Joanna - If you're wilting now, wait until summer. You won't want to step one little toe outside. Texas spring is like the rest of the world's summer.

Karen - Last week was windy here.

Elspeth - Find your gloves. And the shovel!

Can't wait! Thank you for sharing your lovely plants with us. :)
Yay for spring! Most of the trees around here have shiny new baby leaves. And the blossoms are blowing around snowy fragrance everywhere. Yum.....

Love the purple tree!

E.Elle - You're welcome. Enjoy.

Words Crafter - A little fragrance here; a little pollen, too.

Hi Carol! We've had spring here, too...and even record breaking high temps. It's been gorgeous! But, wait...what's this I hear?? Highs in the 40s and lows in the 30s for the next WEEK?! Snow flurries? ICK! What's worse than snow after a couple fo 83 degree days? That's St. Louis!
Carol Kilgore said…
Becky - That's no fun at all! We're supposed to have a couple of cooler days next week, but nothing to pull out the sweaters over.
Hart Johnson said…
Okay, expect me to taunt you soundly when you are over 100 because my walk to work this morning was (with the windchill) 14 degrees. I hate Michigan this time of year. Highs this week are in the mid 30s. GRRRRRR!

It's 37 here right now, though it was in the 60s yesterday. Still, I have a handful of freshly picked flowers sitting in my windowsill. Love it! Bring on more, Spring!!

Thanks for sharing your spring flowers and plants it makes it seem less cold here somehow.

Hart - We're supposed to have 90s this weekend but drop to the 70s for a couple of days next week. At this rate, we'll be hitting the hundreds in June. Or earlier. That's why Texans love spring so much!

Miranda/Linda - Brr - that's winter :) Enjoy your flowers.

Holly - That's a good thing for March.

I am *so* jealous! We just got snow again last night, LOL! At least it was just a dusting and not the 3-6 inches they initially predicted. Ah, the great northeast. Pfft.

lbdiamond - Been there. I much prefer early springs!
