Ahhh, so true -- the sound of the words can make you feel differently. And all of them sound better with a British accent.

Fun lists going on here. Words that make me smile? Hm ... coffee! And writing, too! Maybe with a little chocolate thrown in the mix. Not so much for their sounds, but for what they mean to me.

I've never heard kerfuffle. What does it mean? I rather like the word kazoo. Can't play one, but it's still fun to say.

Well, you caught me off guard and I am wordless. Like Joanne, I do like the word chocolate. Words I don't like are sophisticated words that I have to look up the meaning to. Words that make me smile are splish, splash, giggled, swoosh, etc. Can you tell I write for children :o)

I love words too! 'Moist' and 'slimy' are my least favorite, but I use gelid often when I write. It seems to fit when 'cold just isn't ugly enough. For some reason I love the word 'whisper.'

I adore 'akimbo'. 'Snot' is disgusting in almost an onomatepoeic way. 'Frumpy' is charming. 'Snicker-snack' should be used more.

Janet - Another chocolate fan! A sophisticated word every once in a while, but not an entire book filled with them. I like your smile words, too.

There are many German words which I like to say: schmunzeln (qietly smile), kichern (giggle), schmatzen (eat noisily), betüteln
(can`t translate, something like "trying-to-be-of-help-even-if-you-don`t-need-it", kinda), Scherzkeks (silly guy), oh, too many. I like words that have a sound to them.

lbdiamond - I like the sound of oblique, too. I don't think I've ever used it in a story. Maybe I'll look into that :)

Doggone I went to the store yesterday and bought Sun Chips--I don't think they qualify for torilla chips, but they'll have to do cause I'm not going back to the store.

LOL! Great lists I'm embarrassed to say that I find words like 'bollocks' have a good ring to them. I find words like 'such' rather puzzling and words like vomit and stench maybe would be horrible words. :O)

my favorite sounding word: cacophony (though I love kerfuffle, too). Least favorite? any long chemical name. And I am fairly delighted with any onomotopeia words... They usually make me smile.
