Wayward Wednesday

The other day I saw a box of cigars.
Each cigar was about five inches long and about as round as a quarter.
What kind of man smokes a cigar like that?

Who is the seventh dwarf?

What if all the Halloween monsters turned real
for one minute at the stroke of midnight?

Why do people continue to harm children?

Have you seen the women at the market whose carts
look as if they were arranged by a stylist?
What do their homes look like?
Are you one of those women?

What if you won the lottery?

If we weren't supposed to make Jack-O-Lanterns,
would we still have pumpkins?

Where do birds go when it rains?

Who uses pi?

Why do writers write?

Rescued Chilean Miners. Yes!

yes, Yes, YES! Rescued Chilean Miners. Incredible!
Where DO birds go when it rains? I always feel sort of sorry for them. And if it's a heavy rain, they're not at my feeders.

Yay for the miners!

Joanne and VR - Almost half are up now. Incredible and amazing.

Elizabeth - Maybe you can bribe one of your kids into asking their science teacher....

Great questions! Who *was* the seventh dwarf anyway? Happy Wednesday, Carol!

Excellent questions, Carol! I want to know what those houses in the magazines looked like the day before the photographer showed up.

And yes, yes, yes to the rescued Chilean miners! How wonderful to see something positive on the news.

Rescued Chilean Miners. Yes! Finally some good news.

Was the 7th dwarf Dopey? See all the burning questions and this one has me stumped.
Saw that many of the miners were already out!!

I'm glad the miners were rescued. That's such a great ending to what could've been a terrible story.

Great questions. IS it bad that they made me chuckle?
So glad about the miners, that is nothing but good news.

Talli - Don't know...LOL!

Elspeth - I'd like to see the before photos, too.

Holly - I can usually only recall six names, not always the same six :)
And I have no idea of the correct order.

Alex - Right before I came here, I read 18 have been rescued, 15 are still underground. Better than half!

Elana - I agree. One would have been good. All will be a blessing.

Lydia - Chuckles are wonderful! I agree about the good news.

I feel like I just went through a pinball machine, Carol!
Yay for the miners!

I'm going to spend the rest of the night pondering these questions. Seriously.

Hoooray for the miners! They is well and free!

1) men lacking about 5 inches.
2) Dopey
3) Did you see that episode of Buffy? It was EXCELLENT!
4) Because some people are EVIL.
5) My cart looks like that. My house does not. Different philosophies. The cart thing is about fitting as much as possible so packing like a puzzle. The same philosophy applied to a house makes for crabby hubbies.
6) I would be able to write full time (if it were a large enough win to pay off the bills AND pay kid college, AND make up for my wages+insurance+retirement.
7) LURVE pumpkin soup and pumpkin bread.
8) head under wing
9) Geeks and circles.
10) Geeks and circles *cough*
11) YAY!

Oh yes, fantastic news for the rescued Chilean miners, can't imagine how incredible lucky they must be feeling right now.

And my code word below is 'tuity' - what does that mean? ;)
A fun post and woohoo for the miners!!!! I also liked Hart's answers!

Some of these questions are provocative enough to deserve their own post....

I'm so happy for the miners. I couldn't imagine being in that situation.

Carol - Yay for the miners!!!

I actually got a little excited at the prospect of the monsters being real for one minute. Does that make me evil? LOL
Carol Kilgore said…
Laura - Tilt!

Hannah - Seriously?

Hart - You ROCK!!!

Talei - Both the miners and their families. 'tuity' eh? Maybe Tuity Fruity? Or Not.

Words Crafter - Maybe one day. Long on ideas. Short on time.

Clarissa - Neither can I since I'm a little claustrophobic to begin with.

RaShelle - Nah, I don't think so.

The German pronunciation of the word tuity would sound like tweety, it`s what the birds do when it rains, singing a sunshine tune.
Well, those Halloween monsters - it is what "All Hallow`s Eve" is all about. The Celts said that at the end of the old year(Oct.31 then)all the deads were coming out of their graves. And you can IMAGINE how decayed some looked! If it weren`t for pumpkins (it was turnips at first), we`d find something else to frighten them off.
I wish we could frighten off those child abusers too. Kick them in the empty graves!

Today ALL the miners are out and safe. Modern technology is good for something! And comradeship under bad circumstances. Wonderful!

Yay for the Miners!! I was surprised how moving it was to watch the first man come up. I don't know these people at all and almost started bawling. Guess there is a heart in me after all!

And the "harm children" comment made me think of last night. My hubby was watching some true crime show about a couple brutally murdering this 92-year old man and his wife. For no reason.
WHY?

I totally got wrapped up in the miners. I even wanted the news to stay online so I could see the men who were part of the rescue squad come up after the miners did.

I use pi. I made two of them for a recent family gathering. Oh wait, that's pi without the e. Sorry.
Carol Kilgore said…
Angela - I'm glad the Celts switched from turnips to pumpkins! And a perfect solution for child abusers, too. Thanks for stopping by :)

Linda - The situation with the miners was very moving. It made us realize the world can change in the blink of an eye. And it showed us what we can accomplish by working together instead of looking for differences.

Helen - Pumpkin Pi?

The rescued miners - a happy story.

We need to save the children.

If I won the lottery, I would have to look around me to see who needed my help; the money wouldn't really be mine.

As always, Carol, a thought provoking list!!

The 7th dwarf is the one left after you name the first six. Isn't it funny that everyone gets hung up on the 7th?
Have the greatest weekend!

Manzanita - I wonder why we tend to blank after six? You have a great weekend, too.

Good stuff. Reminded me of the stand-up routines by Steven Wright. And I am so glad you included a mention of the rescue of the miners. What a great story that has been.
