Friday's Top Ten

Top ten ways to feel your best:

10. Get plenty of exercise.
And not just in your fingers and brain.

  9. Eat plenty of veggies.
Chocolate comes from a bean; therefore, it MUST be a veggie.

  8. Smile and laugh.
Everyone will wonder what you're up to now.

  7. Be thankful.

  6. Play with your kids, pets, and/or significant other.
It's a great excuse not to do housework.

  5. Take time to smell the roses.
And take special care not to get a thorn in your nose.

  4. Encourage your imagination.
What better reason do you need to daydream!

  3. Know that the glass is half full.
Otherwise you wonder what happened to the rest of it, and 10,000 other questions follow. You're not writing a novel with your life, although sometimes it feels like it with mine :)

 2. Seize the moment.
Whether it's finding the perfect hook or savoring a gorgeous sunset or nailing a first-class zinger.

And the #1 way to feel your best:

  1. Be yourself!

I always enjoy these lists. This is a really good one and I’m glad you pointed out the chocolate is a veggie. ;)
Thorn in the nose sounds painful!

I kept thinking 'get plenty of rest' but that's probably just the mother-of-an-eight-month-old coming out in me.

#1 rocks!!

Wonderful advice! Of course chocolate is a veggie!

I never thought of that. Chocolate comes from a bean therefore its a veggie. Makes sense to me. This changes everything!

Great list! We need to be reminded of all of these (but I'm glad you put in exercise too, that one probably gets shoved under the rug a lot!)

Love these, Carol. This is one of your best top tens ever, and you've had some great ones! Think I'll have crudités for lunch. To think I used to call them chocolate kisses...

Great list, Carol! I'm pretty much always a playful optimist, so those are pretty easy things to do!

Same here, Hart. Have a great weekend.

#9 is classic & I agree w/ you that it comes from a bean & from a tropical plant (like that makes a difference but it does seem more exotic!)
Carol - perfect list! It's hard to REMEMBER to do all of those things, but so worth it when I do.

ps: I made chili and corn bread last Sunday (been meaning to tell you). It was fantastic!! =D
A very wise and amusing list. A thorn in my nose-hilarious! Better than a bee!
Carol Kilgore said…
notesfromnadir - Chocolate...the wonder plant :)

RaShelle - I'm glad your chili and cornbread was a hit!

Words Crafter - Most definitely an improvement over a bee.

I might need to work on this a bit - especially the veggie one! Thanks, Carol.

By all means tend to those veggies :)

My weekend was marvelous. Hope yours was, too.
