Beginning . . . Middle . . . End

Beginning

It's the beginning of the road for my friend and fellow blogger, Alex J. Cavanaugh. Tuesday, October 19,  is the release day for his novel, CassaStar.

“…calls to mind the youthful focus of Robert Heinlein’s early military sf, as well as the excitement of space opera epitomized by the many Star Wars novels. Fast-paced military action and a youthful protagonist make this a good choice for both young adult and adult fans of space wars.”

Since I seem to be technically challenged, today, you can WATCH THE TRAILER HERE.

Suitably impressed?

Purchase it from your favorite bookseller starting tomorrow. Advise your friends to do the same.

Middle

Calling Cassandra Jade!
Come out, come out, wherever you are!

Another blogging friend, Cassandra Jade, has been Missing in Action for a month now. She vanished in the middle of a blog tour for her new release.

Cassandra - If you're reading, please let us know you're all right.

If anyone has information, please share.

End

This has to do with comments. I've changed the comment section here hoping to make it easier for you to comment. And hoping it doesn't bring spammers. If you have any trouble whatsoever  - other than Blogger eating your words, which happens from time to time - please email me, and I'll put things back the way they were.

Disclaimer: This post ties to writing in the most remote ways possible. One, every story has a beginning, middle, and end. Two, I wrote it.

Happy Monday!

I always wonder where certain bloggers go. It makes me sad.

woo-hoo! WTG, Alex!! My post will be up tomorrow. :D

Grats to your blogger friend on his release!

Hope Cassandra's okay and that someone here's something soon.

I like the new comment set up!

Congratulations to Alex. Love the book trailer. His blog tour is going to be fun.

I hope someone knows how Cassandra is or she contacts someone.

I changed the comment section too and I've had a number of spams but at least so far (knock on wood) Blogger has caught all of them for me to delete.

Have a great Monday.

Beginning -Congrats to Alex, a very exciting time, definitely!

Middle - And I hope you hear something soon about Cassandra, and that she's okay.

End - Happy Monday to you :)

I took away the comment verification on my blog and set up moderation for posts over 2 weeks old. Now blogger has its own spam filter, and it'll tuck those away into a separate folder. Only downside is that you have to remember to check it!

Well, I hope Alex's book does well. I'm going to purchase a copy tomorrow.

Also, about Cassandra, I'm really worried as well. Cassandra, please check in!

It's nice to know that even though many of us are only on-line friends and writers, we really keep an eye out on each other.

Hannah - Some bloggers come and go, but Cassandra disappeared mid-blog tour, so I'm worried. She was one of my first followers.

Kimberly - Yeah! Me, too. And thanks :)

Mason & Joanne - Thanks all around. Hope your Monday is good, too.

Terry - Another item on the list...LOL!

Clarissa - I like that about the blogging community, too.

Stephen - I'm sure CassaStar will be a big hit.

Wow, awesome trailer!
I hope you don't get spam either, but THANK you for making it easier to comment. I get SPAM, but in very, very low volumes (like one per 50 comments)

Beginning: I'm starting to write a comment.

Middle:; Still writing - but this is where I get stuck.

End: Finished the comment and realizing I've said absolutely nothing worth writing.

Typical day for me. *sigh*

Woohoo for Alex!

I know, I'm worried about Cassandra. It's strange - she was quite consistent, too... and I really want to know she's okay. I hope hope hope she is.
Carol Kilgore said…
Lydia - I think/hope the new settings and Blogger's filter will take care of the spam problem. Fingers crossed.

Elspeth - I'm so laughing. You've been watching me!

Talli - I hope so, too. It's a scary scenario. A lot of stories have played out in my head.
Thanks, Carol!

And I've sent Cassandra several emails but not heard anything. That's two blogger friends of mine that have just vanished in the past couple months!

Let's hope Alex gets the same kind of reception and support outside the blogging community as we've been giving him. He'll have a bestseller on his hands if he does.

Alex - Anything for a friend :)

I think the reason we're all so concerned about Cassandra is she went MIA in the middle of a blog tour without a word to the next up or anything. Not like her at all.

Arlee - I hope he does, too.

I've been following links to Alex all round the internet today, and the book comes out tomorrow. Congratulations Alex. It sounds great.

Hey, according to Amazon you can buy Cassastar today!

Hey Carol. I've felt concerned about Cassandra too. Thanks for publicly mentioning it.

I'm hoping she just has lots of school stress. I did send her an email late Sept, but no reply.
Your post has a great beginning. I wish Alex a fun and fruitful tour.

A scary middle. I hope Cassandra Jade just needed a blogcation and will be back in true form soon.

And a satisfactory ending that will bring me back to read more:)
Carol Kilgore said…
Sheila - I've seen some others, too. I wish Alex all the success in the world.

Holly - Woo-hoo!!!

LR - I hope it's something that simple, too. Please let me know if you hear anything.

Jane - Same here. And I'm glad you'll be back :)

YAY for Alex!

And yes, I'm worried about Cassandra--disappearing is one thing, but disappearing with a new book release in the middle of a blog tour is another step up there in worrisome...

I turned on my word verification several months ago and haven't had any trouble, so I hope it works great for you!
Carol Kilgore said…
Gail - Good for you. I don't post on Tuesdays, so I opted for Monday.

Andrea - His trailer is pretty darn awesome.

Hart - Exactly so about Cassandra.
Angela said…
Yes, good you are watching out for your friend! This truly sounds mysterious. Do you know something about her tour ways? Is it time to inform police? Not even answering emails...
Sending you greetings from a cool and rainy Germany

Congratz to Alex on CassaStar! Amazing trailer.

I haven't had any trouble without word verification. As long as I don't allow Anonymous comments, I remain spam free.

Angela - Cassandra Jade lives in Australia. Her tour was visiting blogs to promote her new book. In the middle of it all, she vanished. Stopped posting on any blog, stopped twittering. Stopped email. No one has heard a word from her.

VR - I'm hoping I remain spam free, too. Isn't Alex's trailer awesome!
Elana Johnson said…
Congrats to Alex for the release of his book.

I don't know anything about Cassandra Jade. We'll have to check in on her.

No problems commenting from me! :)

I've been meaning to take off the squiggly words on my blog now that Blogspot is catching most of the spam. For a while there, the spam was flooding in by the hundreds per night.
Carol Kilgore said…
Elana - If you know any bloggers from Australia, maybe they can inquire locally. Australia is a large country, and I don't know where she lives. I think she's a teacher.

Helen - I know that feeling. Fingers crossed.
