Jennifer - Probably something built on an existing item, yet different and beyond it.

Arlee - Oh, wouldn't that be exciting! We could visit our ancestors and find out who their parents and grandparents were. Can you tell I started working on my family tree - LOL

You do your family tree? That is so exciting for every American, I think! And if you look at the emigration lists at Bremerhaven or Hamburg, you can retrace many of the German or Polish names. I read that David Hasselhoff just found his great-grandmother Meta Hasselhoff (meaning hazeltree farm) who came from near Bremen. Can I help you somehow? Are there German ancestors in your family?

Angela - I do have German ancestry. About half of me :) The first ones I know arrived at Charleston in 1752 aboard the Cunliss from Wurttemberg. I know dad/kids but not mom's name. I don't know from what port. Another from Alsace-Lorraine. Another via England. Still more, but I'd have to look them up.

Clarissa - Me either. I totally agree about the hurricane.

Elspeth - I wonder if there are things we believe are irrefutable . . . like the earth is flat, end of discussion . . . that will be proven false in the future? I want to be Carol Jetson :)

Alex - I'd like a holodeck, too! Not so sure about teleportation . . . I'm a bit of a klutz. I might leave parts of me strung around all over the place. Someone could say, "Have you lost your mind?" And I could answer, "Maybe a little bit."

What's next? I'm still waiting for teleporting. Traveling is a pain sometimes.

Computers that respond to telepathy. That was I can sit in front of the screen with my eyes shut and not move for hours and claim I'm working. Though I would hate to edit the result. The number of stray thoughts scattered through the writing would be horrendous.

Or how about the computer can distinguish our thoughts from anyone else's, and can do so from a distance. We can write while we're shopping or walking or on a picnic.

It is so exciting, and new inventions are occurring in compressed time...faster and faster. I'm waiting for a jetpack, too, or a personal helicopter (or do those already exist?)
I think your post was a poem...at least it was poetic and fun.
