My kids are older and it's all about the presents. I'm all about watching the Grinch on TV. The real one, not the Jim Carrey movie. Gotta love that dog!

And allll the kids think about is Christmas! They just can't wait.

Excitement runs amok this time of year, for sure.

Can we take the songs out of the top ten please? Sorry, been hearing carols at the shops since October and I am a little over them.
I think my number one thing would be family. Thanks for sharing this list.

Oh, yes, the all time symbols of Christmas. I have one rather sad memory about Christmas stockings though. Mine and my oldest brother's came up empty on Christmas day when I was eight. And that ruined the whole celebration for the day coz my brother wouldn't stop bawling until my mom could give him an acceptable explanation.
Those Christmas stockings topped the list when I was a kid. My dad was a master stocking filler -- he must have spent hours looking for the things he found.

Cassandra - I might take the songs off, too, but I don't think the kids would. They're way too excited around here.

whitewitch - Oh, no! How horrible for you and your brother. And your mom.

Patricia - I love unique stocking gifts, too.

Is it already December? I seem to have lost a month somewhere...
Are you going to do the 10 things that adults think about at Christmas next week? :)
Carol Kilgore said…
Oh! Great idea, Laura. Watch for it :)

Aren't we all just kids at heart?

I refused to listen to Christmas music until after Halloween. But I LOVE hearing the songs. I have a four-year old granddaughter now, and Christmas is SO fun again. My husband and I sat and watched Rudolph the other night. I also love watching the old Christmas movies. And some of the new ones.

Mason - Maybe it IS because I'm a kid at heart that I get pretty stressed this time of year. Even so, Christmas is my favorite holiday.

Shirley - Good to see you here. I know you're loving Christmas with a four year old! I like the songs, too, but some places here have been playing them since Labor Day. I think they should wait until Thanksgiving.

Yes exciting days for the kids. What do I think about? Hmmm. FOOD!

The kind that is not cooked by me is best. Not that I'm a bad cook, just getting to the point that "Dinner's ready!" shouted by someone else are my two favorite words in the evenings.

Like Disney, Christmas is best done with children!

Marissa - My live-in handyman and I take turns cooking. We'd each rather cook than clean up. When he cooks I have less to clean than he has when I cook. He's a neat cook; I'm messy. Sometimes we share both duties.

Conda - Don't you love the way their eyes light up!

I think you got not only all 10 things, but in the right order! All I think about is shopping. Man, I hate shopping, but I've got to do it if I'm going to get things mailed. If someone else would do that, I would be much less bah-humbuggy.

You and me both, Helen. I'm not a shopper by any stretch of the imagination. I have two gifts to mail; the others stay here. Gotta hustle.
