Cajun Secrets

This week I'm blogging with my friend Jan Rider Newman at Beyond Acadia. Jan is an authority on Cajun everything.

I tell you that because one of the characters in Secrets of Honor is a Cajun by the name of Remy Girouard. During the editing, Remy caused a little stink, so I asked Jan to step in and referee.

I hope you'll pop over and say hi.

In the meantime, I looked through my old photos and picked a few to share with you.

Bridge - Coast Guard Cutter Taney - Baltimore, Maryland

Historic South Central Texas House - 1800s - Castroville, Texas

Contemporary Texas Island House - Port Aransas, Texas

Our Fur Babies - Backyard, USA

Love all your pictures. My favorite still has to be your doggies.
I'll check it out, but there'd better be some awesome Cajun cuisine awaiting me over there...

Glad y'all like the photos and the doggies, who are now blissfully asleep LOL!

I'm planning on gumbo for lunch. How about you?

All the photos are great but of course the furbabies take top honors. :)
Love the name Remy Girouard.
Great pics! I coulda guessed that first picture was taken in Baltimore. If you squint your eyes a little, one of those clouds looks just like a crab...

Aw, what sweetie doggies!

Maybe I should've named one of the dogs Remy :)

Susan - LOL!

I liked your photos of Texas and your fur children. :-) But I also liked the introduction to your writing, Carol. I believe I "met" you on a blog tour of some kind not too long ago because that's why I'm on your blog's mailing list..but I'm such a sucker for romantic suspense that I visited Amazon and bought your mini-prequel and the book that followed. Thanks! jdh2690@gmail.com

Seriously, that cutter photo with the position of the sun and clouds is excellent. Of COURSE you've got yet another talent besides writing and editing and blogging and comedy and (the list continues)...

Janice - I remember your face, so I think you're right. I have no idea where, LOL! Thanks for buying my first novel and prequel. You rock!

Helena - I also have talent for forgetting things, being late, eating like a pig ... and the list goes on :) But thanks, glad you like it.
Lovely selection of photos - particularly the furry family members.

Love the pics, especially the pups. Puts a face (or two) on that photo with the dog biscuit. :)

Glad y'all like the pics and the pups.

VR - 60 and 80 pounds worth. A girl's gotta do something :)

OE - I love the look of those houses, too. Many, many of them are still around and occupied. Built by German settlers.

Did you ever see the movie The Big Easy? It takes place in New Orleans and the MC's name is Remy. I really like that name.

I agree with Alex - cute pups, but I wouldn't want to cross them. LOL
Nice pics, too. :)

I'll take the contemporary Texas Island house, please, with my boys in the yard. Your pups are beautiful.

Love,
Janie

Hey Carol,

I just love me some Cajun food. Thanks for sharing those collection of photos.

Lovely looking dogs, y'all. You live in Backyard, USA? Must check Google maps....:)

Robin - I did see The Big Easy, and I liked it. I forgot the character's name was Remy.

Melissa - Smart woman. The one on the right is fine. The one on the left doesn't like too many people. They're both extremely smart and vocal.

Janie - Thanks. I love that big pink house, too. It sits directly across from my go-to bar/eatery in Port Aransas.

Gary - I'm sure you'll find us right away :)

On the way over to Jan's now. Will be seeing those pink and other bright beach homes in a few weeks on my annual beach trip to the Padre Island area. I can't wait.

Fabulous photos! I'll head over to Jan's later!

Slamdunk - Wish I was heading to Padre - it's gonna be a couple of months before I get there again. Have a great time!

Love the pics. Especially your furbabies.
Great pictures, Carol! Port Aransas is one of the places we're considering living when we retire. We'll see!

LD - Furbabies rule :)

Dawn - I love visiting Port A. Very laid back. Great beach - I could live there :)

Love the pics. Both my sister-in laws are Cajun, so I do like when I get some good dirty rice and gumbo!

David - Not fair! I haven't eaten dinner yet :)

Those fur babies look a bit pampered. Am I right?
Carol Kilgore said…
Lee - Yes! But spoiled rotten might be more appropriate :)
