A-Z Solomon's Compass Style: August Janacek
Hi, I’m AJ. Well, my real name is August Janacek,
but everyone here in Rock Harbor, Texas, calls me AJ.
I’m excited to be the point man for the entire SOLOMON’S
COMPASS crowd you’re going to meet during this A to Z Challenge. You’ll meet
the main characters, get a mini-tour of our town, and develop a feel for the
story. Be sure to listen closely . . . some of the people around here couldn’t
keep a secret if their lives depended on it.
Carol said she hoped letting me do the introductions
here for A-Z would make up for me not having a larger role in the story. She
was right. I like knowing what’s going on ahead of everyone else.
One time I asked Carol why she relegated me to the
third tier of characters. She said I could take on more, but a bigger role for
me would interfere with my fishing time.
I said, “No, ma’am. Third tier’s fine. The reds are
running, and I don’t want to miss out.” I spend enough time driving my tow truck
and keeping my boat in shape. And a few other things. But Carol knew she could
call on me anytime she needed me, and I’d show.
By the time she finished the story, we’d become
pretty good friends. Just the other day she said that whenever she wears red now,
she thinks of me.
I’ll take that.
And plenty of time to fish.
Pleasure to meet you. I’ll be around all month, so I
hope we become better acquainted.
õ
This week and next, Carol’s doing a blog tour for
our book, SOLOMON’S COMPASS. Today she’s at L.D Masterson’s blog. As to
the topic … she swore me to secrecy.
You’ll just have to go over there and find out for
yourself.
