How many novels have Arf and Woof written now?
Have a great weekend, Carol!

I've just taken a quick survey and 10 out of 10 dogs agree with your Top 10. As soon as word gets out, I expect much yipping and yapping and tails 'a wagging throughout neighborhoods everywhere!

Thanks for the fun Carol. :)

It should be that simple for us, well except the sniffing butt part. :)

Have a great weekend!

Loved #s 4 & 7. LOL
Great top 10. :)

Must only work for dogs cuz it sure wouldn't work for me...
Tina @ Life is Good
The book signings would be a hoot!

Fun post; have a great weekend :)

Alex - Something like 2,013 and counting :)

David - I totally expect you're right :)

Joy - If it were that simple, I might not mind the sniffing part too much. But only if it was totally necessary :)

Karen - True! Keep open to all possibilities.

Melissa - Thanks!

Tina - So far hasn't worked for me, either. I don't care for Milk Bones :)

Words Crafter - That's for sure. Two Hoots, in this case.

Ah, a dog's life! It can't get any better as LONG AS their HUMAN is KIND....

ENjOY your weekend, Carol!!!!!

These guys obviously have their system sorted. You've sort of covered it, but I'd add, "Check pee-mail."

Great list for your dogs. They would love my garden I have plenty of squirrels.

Enjoy your week-end Carol.

Maybe I should try that. I might have better luck:)
Carol Kilgore said…
Diane - Same here. Gotta develop a taste for Milk Bones :)

Michael - I hear you! I don't understand some people. Our dogs are spoiled rotten...and I love it!

Shelley - Oh yes! Very important! Thanks for the reminder :)

CATachresis - Not as dignified as a feline, but it works for them :)

Yvonne - They surely would! And run themselves ragged, too.

Robin - LOL! You never know :)

Hey, I'm willing to give anything a try. Well, except #7. Gotta draw the line somewhere.

I think they have some great points there. If ever I should attempt a novel, I will certainly try some of these!
Sounds like a reasonable list. Except for that whole butt-sniffing stuff.

Happy weekend!

Linda G - I hear you!

Shelly - They assured me these things worked :)

Susan - The dogs love say don't knock it 'til you've tried it :)
I was sure I had commented but it is invisible.
Are demanding pats and ball games a way of postponing the inevitable and dealing with doggy block?
Doesn't "taking a nap" deserve a higher spot on the list? Sure it doesn't compare with "chasing squirrels," but what does?!

Julie
It probably works well in DoggyVille! LOL

Just goes to show even when you are walking the dog, you can be thinking about your novel. That's part of the writing process too!
I have to admit that i haven't tried any of these novel writing ideas, but I might have to pass on covering scents and sniffing dog butts. : )

EC - I just saw your other comment in my spam folder. I'll delete it in a bit. Who knows why Blogger does what it does.

Julie - Chasing squirrels takes a top priority for sure.

Michelle - DoggyVille does have a few of its own unique rules :)

Liza - Very true!

Cynthia - The doggies say sometimes they just don't know why humans don't enjoy that part :)

They sound like methods that would work as well as any I've tried in the past. LOL Doggies. Gotta love 'em.

Awesome. Seriously though, naps help a lot. I mean...a...lot....zzzzzzzz

Wow! Arf and Woof has the requirements for writing novels down pat!

Carol Kilgore said…
Becky - If you like sniffing that kind of thing :)

Milo - The doggies will be in rare form tomorrow, I'm sure. They've napped all day.

Nas - That's what they tell me :)

Arf and Woof have a good sense of dramatic development--note how the most exciting action (growling at and chasing a stray) was saved for the third act, followed by a natural return to the action of the opening scene (eating a Milk Bone).

What smart dogs you have.
lol, so cute! I must try some of those techniques. I'll start with that nap... ;)
Carol Kilgore said…
Helena - I was surprised to learn that when they told me :)

Lynda - Go for it!
