A-Z Solomon's Compass Style: Dan Blair

Welcome A-Z bloggers!
And everyone else, of course :)
My A-Z posts are all about my new book, SOLOMON'S COMPASS.
Read the A post to learn who AJ is.

Hi, I’m Dan.

I can’t believe I’m really on Carol’s blog. All of us involved with SOLOMON’S COMPASS were surprised when she told us she wanted us here to share in the launch of our story. If I were a bird, I’d be preening.

Since learning I’d be here on D-for-Dan Day, I thought about the best way to tell you about myself and decided I’m way too boring. So I’ll tell you about the day I met Taylor Campbell. That was exciting!

I think everybody I know called to tell me that Randy Rankin’s niece was in town and I better hightail it over to Randy’s place and introduce myself. I’m so glad I did! If anybody ever needed me in this life, Taylor was the one.

I've seen worse messes than what Randy left her to deal with, but not many. Taylor may be a tiny little thing, but let me tell you . . . she packs a wallop in the get-it-done department. That woman has the energy of five horses and fifty bunnies all rolled into one.

The flags. Carol would kill me for real if I told you about those. You’ll have to read SOLOMON’S COMPASS to find out.

AJ’s giving me the wrap-it-up signal, so I better end this.

Great to meet y’all!

Today Carol’s blogging with Lynda R. Young at W.I.P It: an Author’s Journey. And she’s telling one of the stories behind the story of SOLOMON’S COMPASS. You don’t want to miss this one!

It sounds like he really needs her, too.

Dan is a surprising guy.
This made me laugh, "Carol would kill me for real if I told you about those." It's true characters are at our mercy.

Great theme for the Challenge! Love Dan's choice of words with horses and bunnies.

Exactly, Alex. She must eat a box of Wheaties every morning.

You know, Diane, I think I did need Taylor. I didn't know it at the time, though.

Delores, you're so sweet. I do love a good surprise, whether I give it or it happens to me!

OMG! You just don't know the half of it, Teresa, unless you've been a character. I could tell you so many stories....

Whatever it takes to get my point across, Christine. I'm rarely short on words.

"she packs a wallop in the get-it-done department"....

Love that line!
What's the mystery behind the flags? A teensy-weeny clue! Please? No? Okay... will have to wait for the story!

Energy of horses and bunnies made me laugh. What an image that creates! Closing eyes and picturing that...

Stopping by from the A to Z, I'm not familiar with your book, but this is great and I'll be back to learn some more.
This is a great posting. I enjoyed reading it very much. Glad you included this blog from Solomon's Compass.

Nice to meet you, Dan! You have me curious about the flags.

Heading over to Lynda's now. :)
I want just a fraction of Taylor's energy. Sounds like Dan has lots of great stories to tell.

He sounds sweet. Thanks for letting him introduce himself, Carol. :-)

I say it like it is, Mark. Carol may put a little twist in my words from time to time, but if it's my head, that's what I say.

My lips are sealed, Michelle. You can't tempt me. I refuse to let you :)

Well, Julie, that is a funny image isn't it. But Taylor's full of horsepower and energy.

Inger, we're all happy to meet you. Come back any time!

We're having fun here, Brenda Kay. Glad you stopped by.

That's me, Julie ... tantalizing! Carol's laughing. I hear her.

You, too, Optimistic. Same here!

You and me both, Julie. I have so many stories, but Carol won't let me share them all.

Oh, I see more here.

You called me out on that one, Al. I love leading people on and making them guess.

I begged and pleaded, Misha. Carol finally gave in :)

I really have to get into your book to find out what the flags are about. I'm getting there. I just a story to get through first.
This is a lot of fun, Carol!

Carol, it's good to see that your characters fear you :)
Hi Dan!

I'm kinda confused as to who you are though, still.

Man of mystery, eh?

Yes you will, Clarissa, 'cause I'm not telling!

Great, Heather! It's supposed to be :)

Carol will put the fear of God into you in a heartbeat, Shelley, but she's a real sweetheart.

I don't know about a man of mystery, Tui, but I'm happy to be a little mysterious :)

haha I love the line, "That woman has the energy of five horses and fifty bunnies all rolled into one." Awesome!
Welcome Dave. Another intriguing post. AJ is a bit of a bully cutting you off like that isn't he?
Carol Kilgore said…
Murees, we hope you'll read our book. We're all ready to meet everyone.

A pleasure to meet you, Nas.

Read the book, Bish, and you'll learn the secret.

Well, it's true. She really does. I wish I had her secret, Lynda.

Don't mind AJ, EC. We all know how he is. He's not really a bully.

Aww, Dan is my favorite. Plus, I really could use his organizational skills around here. Taylor may be energetic, but Dan is one heck of a motivator!

Is that a cat making fun of me?

I think it's pretty, too, Ciara.

Well, Nick...I guess you will :)

Excellent, Karen!

I love being your favorite, VR! Now...make a list, then make a list from your list. Break it down. And do it!

Michael, most people say I just don't know how to be quiet :)
