Got Habits?

This is the Final Week of March Monday Mania.

I've loved giving away all these books, and I hope you've all had fun with this month of double giveaways. And a triple giveaway last week!

This week, another wonderful author is giving away a book to one lucky commenter on this post.

Guest blogging this week is romance author Linda Kage. If you like to read romance and you haven't read any of Linda's books yet, what are you waiting for? She writes contemporary romance for the Young Adult, New Adult, and Adult markets. And she writes both sweet and sexy stories.

I recently completed A Fallow Heart, and I give it Five Stars. But she's giving away a different book here - Addicted to Ansley.

All you have to do to be eligible to win an ebook of Addicted to Ansley is to leave a comment on this post before 9 p.m. Central Standard Time on Thursday, March 28.

The winner will be posted on the Top Ten on Friday, March 29.

ADDICTIONS

Oh my word, I can’t believe I’m actually in the Tiki Hut!  This place is amazing, guys. You should see it. The view, the drinks, that hunky waiter over there (yep, it’s definitely time to order a refill). I could become addicted to this.

Speaking of addictions (you like my sneaky segue there?), I just had a book released this month called Addicted to Ansley. That’s the book I will be giving away today, in fact. Since I’m a sucker for happily ever after, it’s one of those sweet romance stories where the hero had an addiction to drugs when he was younger. But now that he’s older, his addiction falls on a lovely lady named Ansley.

And being that “addiction” is the word of the day, and I’m at Carol’s place where she is so well known for her top ten lists, I thought I’d list my top ten addictions.

First a quick definition: ADDICTION is an abnormal compulsive dependency for some habit.

Okay, so here goes my list :

10. Kissing and smelling my daughter’s hair
9. Reading “one more chapter”
8. Writing at work. Shh. Don’t tell on me, please.
7. Seeing what’s new on GoodReads every time I get online.
6. Checking my email inbox every few minutes.
5. Potato chips
4. and Oreo cookies
3. Stealing sips from my husband’s cup, no matter what he’s drinking.
2. Checking my sales rating on Amazon.

And number one…

1. Playing with my bridged tooth with my tongue. After months of that foreign object being in my mouth, it still feels funny.

So, there are my abnormal compulsive habits.

What is one of your addictions?

and ... IT'S THE LAST WEEK FOR A DOUBLE GIVEAWAY!

I'm visiting with Nas Dean at Romance Book Paradise, this week and giving away one copy of IN NAME ONLY. I hope you'll stop by and say hi to be eligible to win!

Good Luck to All

On BOTH Giveaways!

Well I am a little addicted (and by a little I mean A LOT) to coffee haha.

Great list! I've many sort of addictions...but my big one, like Optimistic Existentialist, is definitely coffee. I go a bit mad when I don't have one within minutes of getting up!

Love you blog Carol!
Linda Kage said…
I may get hurt for addmitting this, but I've never really drank coffee. I know, what is WRONG with me, huh?
Carol Kilgore said…
I'm a coffee addict, too. Strong and dark, no cream or sugar.

Hi everyone!

And welcome, Linda! Hope you have a great time hanging here this week :)
Congratulations, Linda!
I'm addicted to Hot Tamales.

Coffee and gum addict here. Oh, and Bath and Body Works. My husband says he really should've purchased stock in that company years ago.

Hi Carol, Hi Linda. Ha, that's easy. I'm addicted to 'just one more comment' and 'just one more email' when I'm on the internet.

And Carol I feel right at home here, are those shamrocks for St. Patrick's Day? I'm Irish you know. Are you?

BTW I'd never have known the Tiki Hut wasn't really in the south Pacific!
Luanne G. Smith said…
Congrats on the novel. And I'm definitely addicted to sweets -- chocolate in particular. And blogging. I seem to be addicted to that as well. :)
Jennifer Shirk said…
Oh, I have addictions!!

My hubby would say I'm addicted to running the vacuum. (Perhaps. BUt we have white carpets!)
Unknown said…
Addictions? Don't have 'em. *sips coffee and freaks out when he sees the cup is nearly empty* :)

Love to see people writing NA btw!
Linda Kage said…
More coffee people?! I am SOO in the minority here! But that's cool.

Hot tamales is a new one, though! Very cool.

I can totally be addicted to chocolate at times too, especially when peanuts, almonds, or peanut butter is involved!

Gum - my favorites are the minty kinds!

I usually fall behind when it comes to "one more comment." Sometimes I just don't know what to say and don't want to look stupid, so I just try to come off as the strong, "silent" type!!

I think my husband is addicted to the vaccuum. But my 3-year-old is totally afraid of it. I have no idea why it freaks her out.

Oh, and I AM totally addicted to NA books lately. Can't read enough of them!

Oh, I definitely do one more chapter-I sometimes fall asleep while doing so. I love chocolate but also love hot cinnamon candies, red hots, jelly belly hot cinnamon, Hot Tamales.

I've always loved the taste and smell of coffee.

Congrats on the new release, Linda!

Your book sounds wonderful and I love the cover. Oh the email addiction. I'm trying, TRYING, to break that one!
S.P. Bowers said…
Great list, several of those would be on my addiction list, too.

Congrats on the book!
Linda Kage said…
Sia - Okay, I do love the SMELL of coffee. The taste, not so much.
And you're another hot tamale fan, huh? That is so interesting.

Julie - Whenever you figure out how to break the email addiction let me know, thanks!

S.P. - I guess great minds ADDICT alike too ;)

I'm addicted to artisan bread and mountains. I also feel you on #8, 6 & 5. :)

Oh dear I didn't even think about coffee! I consider it more than an addiction; it's integral to my life like air.

Very cute guy on the cover, Linda. I hear you on checking sales rankings... Husband Unit has made me give it up on a daily basis.

Happy Monday, Carol.

Strong black coffee and puppies (all baby animals actually).

Too funny and so true about new dental work/objects LOL!

And Carol...LOVE your new pic with the flower on the sidebar :)

Here it is Margarita Time, and I'm just now getting back over here. Yikes!

Linda - I had a chance to reread your list. One thing else besides coffee ... kettle cooked jalapeno potato chips. Can't. Stop. Eating.

Maria - Welcome to the Tiki Hut! Your home away from home :) Yes, shamrocks. Husband holds claim to the Irish in our family. I'm English on my mom's side and German on my dad's. Mostly.

Y'all be nice to the cabana boys!

I think I am addicted to my macbook air!! But I will start a 12 step program …… sometime! ;)

I'm addicted to cheese, tea, re-reuns of the Big Bang Theory, and some stuff that's not good for me. So a novel with a recovered addict sounds intriguing.
LD Masterson said…
I object to your description of some of your "addictions" as abnormal. I think if you took a poll...

As for me - hot tea. Black, not green. (And don't even get me started on herbal.)

For me... Writing anywhere, anytime - including #8. (Don't tell my boss either. :P)

When my kids were younger, definitely #10. Now that they're smelly middlegraders, not so much. hahaha

Great top 10!
I am addicted to both Coke Zero & Pepsi Max...........
Shelley Munro said…
Great to meet you. I hear you about checking email and those Amazon rankings always entice me.
Congratulations Linda. Two of the addictions that I am prepared to admit to are books (almost any book) and the garden.

Raquel - Thinking of Artisan Bread makes me want to go to Panera...yum!

Jemi - Ooh! A tea drinker. Nice!

Donna - I have this word game on my iPad that's called 7 little words, and it's totally addictive too!

MPax - The cover guy is Jason Aaron Baca. He's pretty famous for romance covers!

Rula - Baby puppies are soooo soft. I love them. I totally agree with you on the new profile pictures. It's so lovely, Carol.

Carol - Anthing with Jalapeno in it makes me a total coward. I'm not a spicy person, and yes, yes, I'm totally weird that way!

CATachresis - A MacBook Air! GASP. I want one. I'll trade you my first born for it. She's potty trained. Mostly.

Helena - Are you Team Sheldon or Team Leonard? I like that show too.

CD - Oh good, someone thinks I might actually be normal. I'm so telling my husband this one! Cheers to the "black" tea drinker!

Melissa - Mums the word! Wink Wink!

Jo-Anne - My hubby is a Coca-Cola addict. So, since I steal from him, I drink it often too! I might have to get him to buy some Coke Zero so I can see what it tastes like!

Shelly - Hi! Nice to meet you. It's always so exciting to see your rating drop, isn't it?

Elephant - Ooh...addictions you don't want to admit to. Now I really want to hear those!

Carol Kilgore said…
Good morning!

Helena - I love BBT, too :)
"Just one more" could cover a lot of my addictions... to reading (or writing) just one more chapter or page, reading one more blog post, working one more puzzle, eating one more cashew, (yeah, right!)or drinking one more cup of tea. But my biggest addiction? Sweet sticky hugs and kisses from my grandchildren.

Hi, Carol & Linda,
Interesting. Never read a book about a recovered addict in love. Sounds so, so interesting. Hope the book is doing well.

I used to be addicted to checking Amazon too, but I've brought that under control - with great restraint, I'll add.
Misha Gerrick said…
Mmm... Chocolate, although it's sort of under control now. ;-)
Congratulations Linda!
I suffer from "Fiction Addiction" amongst other things...
Carol, I LOVE your new photo! It's gorgeous!
Carol Kilgore said…
Michelle, thanks. Glad you like it :)
I'm completely addicted to books, reading and internet and in that order!

~Nas~
Linda Kage said…
Susan - Aww...I think I love your addiaction. Just one more is such a good answer.

J. L. - I wish I had your restraint. Sigh. Someday maybe.

Misha - And you actually WANT your chocolate habit to be under control? Kidding. That's awesome!

Hi Michelle - I love that term. Fiction Addiction. I'm so using it on my hubby the next time he complains about me reading too much. Thanks!

Romance Book Haven - Amen!
