Friday's Top Ten

It's 12-21-12, the Mayan Doomsday. Or is it? The top ten questions about today:

10. Will anyone be here to read this?

  9. What about all the Christmas gifts?

  8. Who's going to turn off the lights?

  7. Did they think the whole world was on Mayan Standard Time?

  6. Will it rain zombies?

  5. Were the Mayans known as practical jokers?

  4. Is Santa exempt?

  3. Who's on the Cleanup Committee?

  2. Will the ball still drop in Times Square?

And the #1 question about today:

  1. Am I going to regret writing this post?

No offense intended.
No Mayan curses invoked.
No human sacrifices required.

And if no one turns off the lights, who will pay the bill?
Great list. We are still here in the UK 1 HOUR after the time the world should have ended so I presume another date will no doubt be given.

Happy Christmas to you.
Yvonne.

Looks like we dodged another bullet. I guess it's safe to say Merry Christmas now lol.
DEZMOND said…
I must dress up in my best clothes today because I want to be a lovely zombie with style :)

Maybe we can send Wall-E in for cleanup?

No Apocalypse allowed this week. I'm too busy. Maybe I'll pencil one in for next week? *checking my schedule*

Now they will have to come up with something else to scare us. The doomsday people need to get a life :o) No offense intended :o)

No human sacrifices? How disappointing...
I especially love the raining zombies. As it rained here after midnight last night, I should check my yard...while carrying an axe.
Happy holidays to you!

Very clever and laugh out loud funny, Carol! I was thinking, too....with all the different time zones...just when was "The End" supposed to happen?!
Summer Ross said…
LOL- Who indeed will turn out the lights. And the Christmas gifts- Survivors will scavenger. :)

Happy Holidays to you and yours!

Alex - Another problem!

Yvonne - I'm here, too. Happy Christmas back!

Delores - Merry Christmas!

Dezmond - Suave and debonair, I'm sure :)

Diane - Wall-E! Perfect!

In honor of the potential end of time, I consumed as much chocolate and wine as I possibly could. Damn Mayans. I'm still here and nothing fits. ;) Merry Christmas, Carol.

I just signed up for the January 7th event. Good luck and what a great way to kick off a new year!
Carol Kilgore said…
Julie - I'm still laughing! Great minds and all :) Merry Christmas!

Stephen - Great! Thanks. And Happy New Year!
Carol Kilgore said…
Oops! I see forgot to comment back to those of you in the middle. I so love Christmas, but I'll be happy when the chaos is over so I can get what's left of my brain back.

Huntress - Can we skip a year or two? I'm already planning into the summer for next year :)

Janet - Funny! And you're absolutely correct.

Laura - I knew that would be a huge disappointment for some of you :)

Becky - I suppose we're not truly in the clear until it's past 12-21 worldwide :)

Summer - Can we have a scavenger hunt? Will the winner win wine?

I guess the joke was on us, making us cower and duck today. Well, I wasn't, but I'm sure someone was! Hmm. Not so funny. Oh well. Great list.
Carol Kilgore said…
Mason - Same to you!

Linda K - I didn't duck much either :)
Christine Rains said…
Hehehe! I'm reading it and nothing fell from the sky except snowflakes today. Unless they're invisible zombies!!!
Jemi Fraser said…
Funny! I had to answer a LOT of questions from my students the last few weeks! :)
Carol Kilgore said…
Christine - Oooh...invisible zombies :)

Jemi - I can only imagine!
I do think Santa is exempt. Otherworldly being need not apply for the end of the world. They will simply have a weenie roast.

Ya know, there have been so many 'close calls' lately that I didn't even remember that things could have turned disastrous today. ;)

So far, so good! The world is still here. *crosses fingers*

Your list is absolutely delightful. I just had to come over to see what you'd written. I guess I'm out of it because I didn't know the world was supposed to have ended...but now I know why the weird list of phone numbers came up on my cell phone yesterday, and a weird photograph. It was spooky.

Maybe I didn't hear about The End because my daughter and I no longer have (expensive/not worth it) TV. We watch movies/series, etc. and access a few other free channels we like through ROKU. No commercials anywhere! We love it.

Again, have a great Christmas.

Shannon - Good to know about Santa :)

J.L. - I know what you mean.

Linda G - A few more hours....

Ann - I don't think you missed anything :) Merry Christmas!

Fabulous list! Why does it feel like some Mayan spirits waited around for 5,125 years just to laugh their heads off at us?

Happy Yule!

Zombie rain. Somehow, I don't think I have the right umbrella for that . . .

Happy Holidays! :)
Carol Kilgore said…
VR - Exactly!

Golden Eagle - Neither do I :)

Since I haven't finished my Christmas shopping, this end of the world thing may be kinda convenient for me.

Thanks for the laugh!
Carol Kilgore said…
Helena - Oops! Time to get a move on - we're still here :)

I didn't bother with the cleaning just in case. It would have grieved me to leave a clean house at world's end. Thanks for the laugh.

Merry Christmas to you and yours, Carol, and all best wishes for 2013! Hope Santa is generous to the dogs too. :)

I'm late, but I'm here! :D

I had to work the night of the 21st. We nurses looked at each other about a half hour after midnight and said, "Hey. The world didn't end. We're still here!" We burst into a round of giggles, then went back to work. ;)

Santa is so exempt!!! And Daniel Craig. Ahem.
:-)

HAPPY CHRISTMAS lovely Carol!! Take care

Carol Kilgore said…
Ricardo - Feliz Navidad!

Shirley Wells - Ah, yes...the house cleaning :)

Melissa - I can see this. Funny :)

Old Kitty - Of course Daniel Craig!
