Friday's Top Ten

Top ten things about me that people think are quirky and maybe weird:

10. I'm a total klutz

  9. I make connections most others don't

  8. But the connections are not always the correct ones

  7. I usually say what I think

  6. I see things others miss

  5. And miss the obvious

  4. I embarrass myself in public (see #10 and #8 and #7 and #5)

  3. I sometimes don't plan ahead

  2. I'm rarely bored (see #4 and #3)

And the #1 thing about me that people think is quirky and maybe weird:

  1. I'm a writer

The writer thing is the weirdest! But us weirdos are all right.

Yeah, that could totally be me too.

Happy Friday, Carol.

I have a few of those weird quirks myself. :)

And they'll all reasons why we love you so much!! They make you Carol! What a good top ten!

Alex - That's what I'm thinking :)

Stina - Yay!

Summer - Smiles are free :)

L.G. - And here I thought I was unique, LOL!

Karen - I'm happy you're smiling :)
BECKY said…
Hey Carol, the two of us are freakishly alike! :D
LR said…
Oh yes I can relate to a lot of these too. Especially 5 and 6.

I'm totally with you on #6 & 5... Most often, it's 6 that I'm exhibiting... then people think I'm a little ditzy. Finally, I get to show off my 5-ness, and then they say, woah, you're not as oblivious as I thought!
I think we're like this *because* we're writers! We have to let go of the obvious because they'll end up as cliches, so we're forced to search for something new.
Carol Kilgore said…
Dezmond - LOL!

Linda J - Comforting :)

Linda K - Aww...you're so sweet :)

Becky - Freakishly, eh?

LR - #5 makes me crazy!

Raquel - You could be on to something. I'll say that to Live-In Handyman the next time he points out something obvious that I missed :)

Being a writer explains all the rest of the list. I with you on these traits.

What? Writers are weird? Day-am, that explains a lot... ;)

Haha! I love this list. It's so...so...writerly. We really are an odd bunch. :)
Happy weekend!

Well if nothing else you are interesting to know!!! lol My mother says that her train of thought has many carriages, but not all of them are connected!! I think you would get on lol
Carol Kilgore said…
Arlee - What a group we are!

Linda G - I think it's our wiring :)

Laura - Odd? Writerly? Is there a difference?

CATachresis - I LOVE that! So much so, I may steal it :)
Helena said…
OMG, we're almost twins! Only 2 doesn't fit me cause I can get bored. As for klutz - I got a huge bruise on my right hip after falling flat out during fencing and then hitting the same spot on a windowsill edge. Hope you don't injure yourself.
Carol Kilgore said…
Helena - Ouch! I almost took out my big toe the first part of the summer with a closet door. Life as a writer can be dangerous :)
VR Barkowski said…
We have an awful lot in common, esp. that klutz thing. The only time I'm bored is when I'm doing a routine task like making out bills. There's always another intriguing book to read, a blog to visit, a new place to explore, or some weird topic to research. I don't really understand boredom, but then I'm a writer and you know what we're like. *eye roll*
And you do the Top Ten every Friday on The Tiki Hut! It's always fun to see what topic you have chosen.
Carol Kilgore said…
VR - Oh, gosh, YES! Routine tasks bore me to tears. Five minutes or less and I'm ready to scream!

Karen - Something different every week. It's how I roll :)

I like to say what I think too. This can get me in trouble, but I just don;t care.

My gosh, Carol. You sound an awful lot like me. I think the only difference it that I do not consider myself a writer. A journalist, maybe, but I have a strong feeling that I an an ameteur and hobbiest of writing.
Carol Kilgore said…
Stephen - LOL! I understand totally.

Glynis - No matter what we write, if we write, we are writers.

Interesting. I guess I'm a little weird, too :o)

Janet - Welcome to the club!

Oh yes, the writing thing is definitely weird. I tell myself that if I wasn't a writer, I'd be the one hearing voices in my head all the time and people would label me crazy. Better to be quirky and weird than crazy, right? ;)
Nas said…
Awww....loved your top ten this week! I could relate to most!
Carol Kilgore said…
Old Kitty - Yes! Let's not forget the yummy firefighting creatures :)

Shirley - LOL! So, so true :)

Nas - Cool :)
I'm with you on numbers 2, 4, and 10! Julie

Oh, and 2. I'm also rarely bored.
Carol Kilgore said…
Julie - Sorry, I almost missed you! Lots of us are klutzy :)

Medeia - Many of us are a lot alike.
