Friday's Top Ten

The top ten things going through my mind:

10. How come I can't catch up?

  9. I need coffee.

  8. If that dog barks one more time, I may kill him.

  7. Awww, the dog's so cute when he does that :)

  6. My brain is too full.

  5. Where's my pencil?

  4. Finally! All the excess files and images are moved into folders and off my desktop!

  3. I'm hungry.

  2. What time is it?

And the #1 thing going through my mind:

  1. I'm so looking forward to getting back to my WIP :)

It's a good thing pets have that cute thing down to a science, isn't it?

And your #1 is why you're a writer. :)

I need coffee too!

You've listed a typical day in writerland... :)

I need coffee and a masseuse. I don't want to see another paint brush or until September.

Did I write that? We must be connected some how. LOL

So glad to know my brain isn't the only one that works like that. And for me you can substitute the word kid for dog. (Yes, my kids bark on occasion).

Alex - It sure is!

Linda G - I'm guessing you're right :)

Liza - Coffee is wonderful :)

Laura - I guess we're all alike in that way.

You've just described my week.

Love the hot fireman - especially the boots. :)

Hey, I'm hungry and need coffee too. We are so alike.

I'm wondering a few of those things myself.

LOL, I have similar feelings about my cat as you do about your dog!

Sia - I can so relate to that. We haven't painted in a while, so it will soon be that time again. And I really need a massage.

Ciara - :)

Johanna - And my dogs talk. Especially the heeler. Mr. Vocal.

Shirley - Aren't they too cute!

Clarissa - I haven't had lunch yet, and I'm starving.

There must be something about this Friday. I've read very similar laments on two other blogs today.

All this nonsense we have to get past to get our heads where they need/want to be.

It's No. 5 for me all the time -- my brain is too full and I can't empty it out.
Carol Kilgore said…
Arlee - It's the writer part of you :)

Kyra - Awww...cats are so cute, cuddly, and funny :)

LD - Exactly. And I'm guessing the Collective Consciousness is messing around again :)

Helena - Mine empties a little with each project I complete, now that I'm not refilling it with two more related to publishing a book.

At least there's a bright spot in #1. :)

Going out on tour is exhausting, even if it is fun!
It's morning here in NZ and the weekend. Our puppy wants a walk and is insistent about it.
Carol Kilgore said…
Golden Eagle - Yes!

Shelley - Hope you enjoyed your walk. Puppies are like that :)
Janet, said…
Wow, we think alike.
Carol Kilgore said…
Janet - I think there may be a lot of us.
Looking forward to getting back to a WIP is one of the best feelings :)

My pets irritate and charm me at the same time.

I love it when my desktop is cleared and everything's in folders.

Happy writing.
Carol Kilgore said…
Lynda - I think so, too :)

Medeia - Same with me. And today I cleaned out my inbox! I see sanity just around the corner, LOL :)

I'm so with you on #10, and #9. Meditation helps with #6 for me. Your top tens are a lot of fun! I hope your WIP is going smoothly!
Carol Kilgore said…
Raquel - As soon as possible, next week I hope, I'll get back to my WIP. I had to set it aside in the crunch.

ROFL! I can identify with most of those, though the dog barking would be replaced by cat clawing for attention LOL!

Madeleine - With me it always happens when I'm totally engrossed or trying to quickly finish something. Instant loss of concentration.

Old Kitty - My thoughts exactly!

Always a good thing when you're not finding every way possible to avoid your WiP, right? That you're actually looking forward to working on it = very cool. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for myself this weekend!
Carol Kilgore said…
Milo - I've been there, so I know what you mean. I'm glad I'm not there now :)

I wake up to number 9 and 10 every morning. I keep thinking, with enough coffee, I'll be able to catch up. Hopefully, one day that will be true. haha. Hope you've had a great weekend. :)
Carol Kilgore said…
Michael - I'm on that same page. Weekend was great. Hope yours was, too.

You're a riot! I really enjoyed this. Great post! :-)
