Lucky Sevens

Last week Medeia Sharif tagged me with the Lucky 7 meme. Here's what I'm supposed to do.

The rules:
1. Go to page 77 of your current MS/WIP
2. Go to line 7
3. Copy down the next 7 lines, sentences, or paragraphs, and post them as they're written.
4. Tag 7 authors

Since I'm not yet at page 77 on my current WIP, I chose to give you these lines from IN NAME ONLY, hoping to whet your appetite for more.
Summer took a quick shower and grabbed a beer from the fridge. The leftover brownie caught her eye, and she snatched it to test Charlie's theory.
Before her shower, she'd spent almost half an hour researching James and Amanda Packett on the Internet with little result. She found their names, but learned nothing about them.
Now she curled into a chair, turned on the lamp, and read about the hydrogen isolator. She had drunk half her beer before she remembered the brownie and took a nibble, then a swallow of beer. A smile spread across her face.

Now I'm supposed to tag 7 authors. I've seen this meme around for a few weeks, so I don't know who has it already. If you want it, it's yours :)

If you don't, but you know someone who does, they're free to come over here and snag it. All I ask is you - or they - leave me a comment so I know where it's going. Inquiring minds Nosy writers like to know these things :)

Also last week, Tami Brothers passed the Irresistibly Sweet Blog Award on to me.

Receiving this award means sharing 7 random facts about me. One of the rules for receiving this award is to pass the sweetness along to 7 other bloggers.

I've received this award before, so I'm passing it on the same way as I did the tags above - you or someone you know want it, it's yours. Just tell me in the comments, please.

Now ... 7 random facts about me. Maybe you'll find one you didn't already know.

1. I love going barefoot.

2. My eyes are green.

3. One of my ancestors helped establish a town near Boston.

4. I love rain.

5. And sunshine.

6. I'm afraid of spiders.

7. My favorite follower is YOU!

Comments

Someone in your family established a town? That's impressive. And beer and brownies is an odd combination.

Gratz on your award. Who is your ancestor? That's amazing :)

Interesting 7 lines going on here, I like seeing a glimpse inside the story!

And congrats on your Award ... Happy Monday to you :)

I love the 7 line thing. I've run into a few blogs that they had to give a warning about the subject matter. It was hysterical.

I tagged me for you! I was curious what was on line seven of page 77! It was kind of a biggie confrontation scene, so I posted it on my blog! Fun game.

Congrats on your award. And I enjoy reading these Lucky 7 posts! Great excerpt!

I'll join you in the love of going barefoot and the hatred of spiders. I just imagined stepping barefoot onto a spider. Ew. Now, I just imagined the crunch and squish. Ew again.

Yum, brownie and beer!

And I have green eyes too ;)
Carol Kilgore said…
Alex - Odd but tasty :) I was impressed when I learned about the town, too.

Anna - My ancestor was Joseph Hills.

Joanne - Thanks! Looking forward to reading your book :)

Ciara - A warning - LOL! Glad that didn't happen with mine.

Linda K - Cool. Going to check it out in a little bit.

Summer sounds like my kind of girl. ;)

I'd also love to hear more about your ancestor (as I come from Mass.) Tell us more!
Congratulations upon your award, Carol. These facts about your are very interesting. I enjoyed the poem. Have a super day.

Beer and a brownie? Not a combo I'd normally go for, but I'd be willing to give it a try.

My current manuscript is non-fiction, so it wouldn't have the same impact.

My eyes are green, too! With red hair. If I wear white, I look like Christmas.

Another one here raising an eyebrow at brownies and beer. Not opposed to it. In fact, I may even try it. See, reading is educational. :))
Emily R. King said…
Now I need a brownie! :)
Great excerpt.
Carol Kilgore said…
Cortney - Glad you enjoyed the excerpt :)

Elspeth - Eeewwwww...I just lefted my feet.

Johanna - Twins :)

LR - Cool :) Joseph Hills is an ancestor on my mother's side of the family. He was one of the founders of Malden, Massachusetts, and came here from England in 1638.

Brenda Kay - Thanks! You have a great day, too :)

I loved reading your excerpt and it definitely whet my appetite for more. Can't wait to be able to read the whole book.

Very interesting about your ancestor in Massachusetts. My ancestors came to MA from England around that same time, I wonder if they knew each other! :D

I have been behind on my blog reading and I don't know when you changed the pic at the top of your blog, but I really love it. Looks great! Happy Monday and have a great week ahead. :)

Linda G - I love the combo. Not sure why.

Diane - LOL about Christmas!

Luanne - There ya go :)

Emily - I'm making myself crave one, too.

Julie - Wonderful! Perhaps our ancestors did know each other. Maybe we're even distant cousins. What are some of your family names?

A fellow green eyed lady! You know we are supposed to be descended from magical beings and have old souls, right?

I love this meme that's been going around.

Hmmm. Wonder why I have a sudden craving for brownies. :)
Carol Kilgore said…
Julie - I didn't know that. Too cool. Magical beings hmmmmm :)

Stina - Gee, don't know :)

Congrats on the awards - I love the snippet.

I also love going barefoot. Sigh. It's been awhile!

Hi, Carol,

I'm with you on the rain and the spiders, but then as long as it has more than two week and it walks close to the ground, I'm afraid of it. :)
Carol Kilgore said…
Talli - I'm barefoot now :)

J.L. - LOL! I don't like many of those creepy crawlies, but spiders are the only ones that send me scrambling and freaking out.
Tami Brothers said…
Love these 7 random facts, Carol! And I love your blurb. Makes me want to go out and see what that brownie and beer do... ;)

Green eyes? Me, too. :)

Tami
Rain is wonderful when I don't have to go out in it...unless I want to ;)

Great excerpt and congrats on your award.
Carol Kilgore said…
Tami - Well, if you have green eyes you'll for sure like beer and brownies - LOL!

Lynda - Great point! Glad you enjoyed.
I also have green eyes and love brownies! I really enjoyed your 7 lines and can't wait to read more! Congrats on your award! Julie
