One of the Reasons I Love Texas

Texas has several distinct areas. One of them is West Texas.

Texas State Photographer Wyman Meinzer has produced this West Texas video that gives you an up close and personal look at the vastness of this part of our state.

Enjoy!

I had some difficulty in uploading this video, so I hope it's still here when this posts.

If you'd like to learn more about Wyman Meinzer and his photography, his website is here.

Amazing Carol. Thanks for sharing.

I have only been through West Texas a few times (my brother used to live there), but remember it as beautiful for so hot and dry. Now my relatives reside in South Texas so we enjoy the beach perks.

Meinzer has such a way of capturing how dramatic the landscape, the skies and nature are there in Texas. And snow, too! Just beautiful.

There are many reasons to love Texas, right? But Wyman Meinzer and his photography makes this obvious and accessible. Thanks for this.

I just watched Cowboys and Alien's last night. I half expected to see aliens at any second while watching this. Ha!

Carol Kilgore said...

Karen - Yea - enjoy your visit! If you visit San Antonio, get in touch. Houston doesn't look anything like West Texas.

Shirley - Maybe it's a little different from England.

Teresa - Texas is great. And all our parts are unique.

Julie - Come on down!

Emily - Too funny. But...when you're out there, sometimes you think you see aliens, too :)

Really like how the music changes based on the pictures. He did a really nice job putting this together. I can say I know a bit more about Texas from watching this.

Carol Kilgore said...

Linda G - Once a Texan, always a Texan, no matter where you are :)

Yvonne - Maybe next time you visit us, you can come to Texas.

Joy - I like the music choices, too.

Ah, the West. Horses and cowboys. The open spaces. The jagged hills. And those incredible sunsets! I've only been through the Panhandle, so it was wonderful to see the variety of the state through an amazing photographer's eye. As varied as the state where I grew up (Utah). Made me a bit homesick for the West as I watched and listened. My daughter was in her room, listening. She said, "Nice music." A perfect-ly awesome video that let me sit back and just relax. Thanks so much for taking the time to share it!

Wow! Gorgeous.

Having lived in East Texas for the summer, I was amazed at how beautiful and diverse the state is. And the people are so friendly! One guy even wanted to show me his gun... (not a euphemism, ha!). :)
