Temporary Management

I'm dismayed to tell you that Blogger has assumed temporary management duties of Under the Tiki Hut.

This is the most recent post under Known Issues:

We're investigating an issue which is preventing login and comment posting for some users, and hope to have a fix released shortly.

Thanks for your patience in the meantime. — LATEST UPDATE ON TUESDAY, MAY 24, 2011

LABELS: comments, login, outstanding
What this means for me is that I cannot access ANY Blogger comments - not yours, not mine. Nor can I access my Dashboard.

How, you might ask, did I make this post? From Internet Explorer. S-L-O-W. And extremely prone to crashing at inopportune moments.

I use Google Chrome - which I love. LOVE! Except that I fear the issue is also related to it in someway because my iGoogle page is showing a glitch or two as well.

I'm going to give this issue until Friday to clear. If it hasn't by then, I will download Firefox and see what happens with it. If I start showing up on your blog, you'll know Chrome and Blogger are back in business. At least temporarily. I doubt it is as fast as Chrome, but I don't think it can be worse than Internet Explorer.

If any of you have other suggestions I'd love to hear them.

Needless to say, my Summer Project will be at least a week late in starting. I'm so thankful I didn't have a Guest Blogger post schedule.

Thanks so much for understanding.

P.S. ... I can't preview this from Internet Explorer, so I hope it's formatted correctly.

Comments

I've heard several others say they tried Firefox and had no problems at all. Guess I should count myself lucky IE has give me no trouble.

Oh no what a pity. Hope it gets fixed soon.

There've been a lot of blogger problems lately.

Carol, I don't know if this will help, but this is what I've been seeing around the blogs to fix the Commenting problem.

When you log in to blogger with your email and password, make sure that the "Stay Signed In" box is NOT checked. Apparently this immediately clears up the can't-comment issue. Hope it helps ...

It looks great. I been having problems too. Posting comments has been a challenge. But eventually the problems seem to work themselves out. Have a great holiday!

The post looks fine. During the past week there were times when blogger didn't have a clue who I was, no matter how many times I logged in. I was Anonymous for a whole day. Haven't had any issues these past couple of days, thankfully!

Carol- I'm a Chrome lover too! Having the same kind of problems also. I'm going to see if what Joanne noted might help. Hope this clears up for you soon!

How frustrating. I really hope they clear up all the problems quickly.

Blogger certainly seems to be having trouble lately. My reaction has always been (besides cursing) taking it as a sign that I should get off the internet and get some writing done. Sometimes it works.

I know loads of people who are having this issue - so frustrating! I had loads of trouble signing in last week and switched back to IE. Annoying. Have you tried clearing your cache? I did, and at least it solved my sign in problem. Good luck!

Thanks everyone for the commiseration and the tips. I'm going to try clearing the cache and unclicking the Stay Signed In box.

And Elspeth ... I have made a LOT of progress!

Y'all will know when I'm back. If one of the above tricks works, I'll have to hustle for a Wednesday post - LOL.

I'm a Chrome-r too, and I've been having problems all weekend. At one point I had them in Firefox, too. I'm so glad to see these tips. Things seem to be back to normal now, but you never know whether the demons are lurking, waiting to come back

Hmm... I use Firefox and I have been okay (knock on wood....)

Hello! I'm back. Like Anne, I want to shout to the world and all of you that everything's back to normal. But I don't want to scare off the goodness :)

I'll be around to your blogs during the week - Blogger willing.

And back here with a new post on Wednesday. I need to take a peek at the consensus from last Wednesday and see what I'm going to do. It won't be guest blogging. Obviously. Since time has run out to bribe...er, ask, someone to post.

So stay tuned!

I thought Blogger's issues were resolved a couple of weeks ago but I guess not.

Wow, what a mess. I certainly hope it's resolved.

Lisa - I think they fixed some but not all. Or the first fix caused the second. I'm just happy to be here.

I've noticed blogging and commenting difficulties these past few weeks.

I use Chrome too. I love it. My dashboard hasn't had any problems with it.

I hope everything is fixed for you. I enjoy coming here. :)

I'm back! And I'm glad to know Chrome wasn't responsible. Please don't stop visiting.

Wow many thanks to Joanne for her suggestion.

I can finally comment everywhere as "LR" again. Thank goodness!

Eek! Good luck! I do like FF, although since their upgrade they've been a bit persnickety. Could be Comcast being difficult though, too. *shrug* Either way - may Chrome and Blogger get it together or FF prove its worth. Soon!
