Island Fun

Today's photos of our recent Galveston trip are the last I'll put up. If you missed the others, you can view them here and here.

I saved the best for last. Pure pleasure . . . mostly beaches and Tiki Huts!

So without further commentary, I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I enjoyed taking them.

Just beautiful. I can hear the surf and feel that amazing sea breeze. There's no place like the beach, is there?

Thanks for sharing these (and I'll be waiting for you to be my Friday Field Trip guest!). There's something about the beach, although I'm enjoying my mountains now.

Joanne - Those memories are still strong for me, too. The beach is my favorite place.

Terry - I'll be in touch next month. I need to finish my WIP first. I like the mountains, too, but the beach is still my favorite.

Sigh. I'd love to be there right now!

Is that 2nd picture a fancy hotel or apartment building?

I love these pictures because beaches & tiki huts are definitely where I'd love to hang out 24/7. How relaxing it looks!

LR - Me, too. Sigh.

Lisa - It's the Hotel Galvez. More about it here:

What lovely pictures, Carol! I could certainly spend some time in one of those huts. I'm so glad you had such a restful time.

Maryann - If you can't be there, nothing is better than photos plus memories.

Savannah - It is gorgeous. I hope you get to visit one day.

Elspeth - I may or may not have enjoyed enough hut time for both of us :)

Oh, how I love the beach. My favorite is Little Corona in Irvine, CA. Lots of tide pools. :)

I did enjoy the photos. I lived on the beach for 25 years and just this morning talked to an old friend from that part of my life. Now, looking at your pictures really brings back memories. Thanks

Love the tiki huts, esp the one with the tree popping through the roof -- and the two rocking chairs looking out to the gulf. Love it!

Cool! Can't wait to go there this fall.
Cool photos! I would've been disappointed if there weren't tiki huts...

Michelle - Sounds very cool. Haven't been there.

Manzanita - Beach living is a different way of life.

Helen - I LOVED that one! It still makes me smile :)

Clarissa - Hope you have a great time.

Ales - I would've been disappointed without them, too!

More wonderful photos. I had the yummiest seafood gumbo in Galveston! I used to work in Longview, TX, and I drove down for a long weekend.

I loved all of the pictures! Made me wish I could head to Galveston right now. My favorite picture is the very last one, how I would love to be sitting in one of those chairs!

Thanks for sharing the great photos of your trip.
