Busy Day

I'll be in the kitchen most of today doing prep work for tomorrow's big meal. My live-in handyman is also the world's best baker, and he's defining the space right now. The yummy smells wafting - I always wanted to use that fancy word - up the stairs are making my mouth water. The scent of cinnamon is perfectly in tune with my second cup of straight, dark, caffeine.

My jobs today are more mundane - chop 'til I drop, for the most part. But finally I have a really good knife. And a huge cutting board. If I don't chop off a finger, I'll be in good shape.

I wish you all safe travel, good food, and fruitful shopping over this long holiday weekend.
